Turns out one boon(?) of keeping meticulous records of what you beat during the year is you can make silly pie charts. So I made some silly pie charts. I've only included entries in which I actually finished the games I was playing.

Damn you. Now I'm going to have to do that too when the year's over. I predict the PC slice to be huge.

Ha ha. Fuck yeah data and graphs.

I was going to make a flow chart correlating my scores with genres just to see if I had any favoritism going on this year, but then I realized my INTJ-ness was just going overboard and let it go.

Wish I had kept my beaten list. I got lazy and disorganized. And I ended up playing Kirby's Adventure and Zelda 10 times in a row per request of my daughter. She uttered the phrase "final boss" the other day. I was proud.

Been researching eShop games and found this gem of a sentence in a Wikipedia article:
A sequel to the original Might and Magic Mobile, it acts as a prequel to that game.

Yeah I know this kind of thing is common among video games but seeing it in writing is hilarious.

Actually I missed a lot of those. Added a few (especially the Vita ones) to my list.

3DS ones will take a back seat since the screen resolution is just so irritating to read on. It made 999 a chore.

Cool.

You probably already know this, but I'll mention it in passing. If you're really into visual novels, the vast majority reside on Windows PC. I can point you towards some great resources for that if you're interested. Reading them via a laptop in bed is something I like to do from time to time.

No, no, no, that's a great idea! :) I think I will put together a chart of my beaten games. I think we'll see a preponderance of NES games on mine... But it would force me to score them, and I don't know if I want to do that. Would be interesting to correlate to a review aggregation site, though, and see how much my tastes diverge from critical reviews.

Okay, I think I need to take it easy, too. :D

One thing I like about HLTB is that it calculates some of that stuff for you automatically. I just had it generate a poll for me about the last two years of games I've beaten:

If you're not putting your data into HLTB you oughta!

Also I never would have guessed Wii would come out on top.

So Psychonauts 2 has a Fig crowdfund going on right now:

The cool thing is this is the first campaign that allows unaccredited investment.

Anybody else ever find themselves with way too many games in progress at once? You think it gives you variety, but it just makes everything take longer to complete.

I need to cut that out, I got a freaking problem here.

I usually have about 3 in the works, one really long game and two shorter ones with very different genres. There a few other titles I play just for the hell of it that don't really have an end, like mario kart, smash bros. Etc.
