I understand completely! I have only encountered snakes outdoors; so, I do not know what I would do if I had to dispose of one in my home.
I would break the floor, then fix it later. In my mind there are only two good kinds of snakes - those far away from me, and dead. Now I do not like killing, after having done so much of it in the past, but a snake in the house is a snake out of its acceptable zone and it will not be living for much longer.

When we go out on the farm to check the fence I carry a revolver with ratshot in it for the express purpose of killing a snake if it comes my way. Granted we end up with rattlers and coral snakes on the farm, so yeah we REALLY dont play when it comes to them.

Clearly you: scoop it up with the shovel, fling it into the air, and do a spinning kick/shovel combo splattering snake guts all over the living room.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

I grew up in the woods and got really good at doing this. I hate snakes, but only killed them if they came around my house (and I know they would harm us, we let garden snakes go). My mom and brother are terrified of them, and my dad was always at work so it was up to me to get rid of it.

The coolest snake killing story I've ever heard though, was my great grandmother's method of beheading them. She grew up on a farm with no electricity, so her crops and animals were her families meal ticket. If she found one that put her animals or crops at risk, she would try to grab it by its tail, and crack them like a whip. Their heads would fly off almost every time.

I'm not for the killing innocent animals, but I would have liked to see that. My Great Grandma was a badass, and I would have loved to get to know her more. She lived to age 98, so she had a pretty full life. She was a firecracker too, as is my Granny.
I'm here for your body.

Oh man, the slinging method. It's like how you snap a chicken's neck so it doesn't run around after you behead it.

My only snake story:

My friend Paulie owned a six foot Burmese albino python during his college years named "Boots", because that's what he planned on turning him into after the snake's demise.

You're not supposed to feed a snake while in their reptarium, as it causes them to be aggressive if you try to remove them. So Boots was always fed in Paulie's bathtub. Well, one day with Boots in the tub Paul's roommate Jeff stepped in for a shower and seconds later he was running around the apartment buttnaked with a python wrapped around his arm.

Nearly every farmer I know has one pig named Bacon.

That reminds me..... there's a farm around here called Bacon Farms. You would think that they might sell bacon, pork, pig products.... But no, Bacon is simply the last name of the family, they specialize in maple syrup.

Psh, they should get more creative. "Pork chop" or "Sausage" or something at least.
