Oh yeah, I've beaten that too haha. I forget about it sometimes since it's quite different from most rougelikes.Exhuminator wrote:I thought you beat Baroque?laurenhiya21 wrote: So far I've only beaten one rougelike, which was Sorcery Saga haha.

Re: Games Acquired 2017
After playing Captain Toad for about two hours, my once fully charged Wii U GamePad's battery light turned red. I was surprised. Granted I've been playing on brightness level 4/5, and using the built in speakers, but still. Did some research and most people claim about 2-2.5 hours between GamePad charges. I had no idea the charge cycle was that short.
So turns out Nintendo sells a "high capacity" Wii U battery, that according to Nintendo lasts 8 hours a charge (probably on brightness 1/5 with audio mute). I suppose that was always the plan, given the battery compartment has so much room to spare, with just the default battery in it. So guess how much this damn battery cost me? Off Nintendo's online store, with shipping and tax: $48.14
Yeah, nearly $50 just to have a Wii U GamePad battery that lasts more than a measly 2 hours.
I have no idea why the Wii U wasn't a blazing success.

Re: Games Acquired 2017
The funny thing is that the Wii U Pro Controller lasts a very long time on a charge (stated as 80 hours, I think most end up charging before they really find out), probably giving the system both the best and worst controller battery life.
It's one of the reasons I get annoyed if a game requires the GamePad, especially for gimmicky reasons - 3D World ends up requiring it occasionally so you can blow on the mic and such. Or for the Captain Toad segments in general. The rest of the game is playable on the Pro Controller just fine.

Shoot, almost missed this! The game and puppet came together, and I paid $80 shipped total.Xeogred wrote: I want to get Lunar 2 myself. How much did that run you? I played most of it ages ago when I borrowed it from a friend. But I own the first now and it would be nice to own 2.
That is Lunar: Silver Star Story though, not Lunar 2. (Two people mentioned Lunar 2, so I actually had to double check!

Re: Games Acquired 2017
This would be a great option if someone were using their HDTV to play Wii U games on, I agree. Unfortunately I'm treating my Wii U like a portable, meaning I always play off the GamePad itself. So the ~2 hour battery life was a bit of a show stopper. Here's hoping that high capacity battery doesn't take too long to arrive.isiolia wrote:The funny thing is that the Wii U Pro Controller lasts a very long time on a charge

Although I spent less on games this year than last year, I spent more on gaming overall due to purchasing a Switch, an Ultra HDMI mod for N64, and a Framemeister. Next year I want to try and spend less than half of what I spent this year. I have other plans I'll need to save for!
