Yeah! Me too! Then maybe I would actually play it, instead of just owning it.ZenErik wrote:Honestly, I just have a lot of trouble staying interested in platform games. It's not because they're not GOOD. For whatever reason I just often play them one for a few hours and never really feel like going back. Personal tastes, I guess. I know that Rayman Origins looks fantastic and is pretty fun. I've played it before.
Would love to see A Boy and his Blob (Wii version) get ported to Vita though.

So I just shipped out the Vita, and I am only 90% sure it was powered off. Any major risks involved if the Vita was left on during the couple days it'll be in shipment to California?

I can't see why it would he an issue, my vita has been on almost the entire time I have owned it (I treat it like a cell phone, put it to sleep when not using it)ZenErik wrote:So I just shipped out the Vita, and I am only 90% sure it was point ered off. Yea. I never turn off my electronics either. Just didn't know if there might be a shipping hazard. Either way I insured it for the full amount of the auction.

Re: Playstation Vita thread
It's not really all that amazing. I think people just love it for the visuals, much like Vanillaware games. Style over substance. Gameplaywise, Rayman Origins doesn't do anything special at all. I think it's far less impressive to people who have actually played a lot of platform games than it is to people who haven't. In terms of "fun", Sonic Generations was so much better and critics just turned their noses up at it.CavZee wrote:Well, if you don't love Origins then either:

B)You have no soul and hate even thinking about fun.
;D
Honestly, I've had more fun with Sonic & Knuckles, Mischeif Makers, both Klonoa games, the Sly Cooper series, the Ratchet & Clank games, Earthworm Jim, Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit, and a myriad other platformers than I did with Origins
Plus, that gameplay mechanic of the collectibles always floating offscreen in Origins really ticked me off
I'd rank it alongside Donkey Kong Country Returns as one of the most overrated platformers this gen personally. It's good...but not so good as to warrant all the critical attention it has gotten.

I don't necessarily agree with Vanillaware games being style over substance. I think Muramasa has a lot going for it.
But I would agree in the case of Dragons's Crown.. Meh.

I disagree, the controls in Origins are perfect and that seems unique to me. I really thought how tight the controls were really shined when you do the treasure chest speed runs.Gamerforlife wrote:It's not really all that amazing. It gets alot of love because it's one of the best if not the best 2D platformer this generation. And also the fact that it's actually 2D and not just polygons running on a 2D plane. And just because you had more fun with other platformers doesn't take anything away from Rayman Origins. I loved Sonic Generations too.Gamerforlife wrote:It's not really all that amazing. Not sure what you mean about the collectables.
Oh, and I didn't really care for what I've played of Muramasa.
Yeah, the game feels great. Also, I think it does co-operative gameplay far better than alot of other games in the genre. Especially NSMB.Stark wrote:I disagree, the controls in Origins are perfect and that seems unique to me. I'm also really excited to play Legends for the touch screen gameplay as well. The demo was way more fun then I anticipated in that regard.

Re: Playstation Vita thread
You say that as if platform games are some niche genre. You really think people like Rayman Origins because they just haven't played platformers before? I mean really, 2D platformers? Rayman Origins isn't even an easy game by any means, it's hardly the first game I think of when it comes too accessibility.Gamerforlife wrote: I think it's far less impressive to people who have actually played a lot of platform games than it is to people who haven't.
Rayman Origins is popular in so many circles in the gaming community that I find it really outrageous that someone would actually think people do not like the game due to lack of playing other games.

The Walking Dead is fantastic. Just finished it a while ago. Very excited for season 2. I hope it comes to Vita at the same time as other platforms.
I loved it. Very engaging. Loved the decision making. Enjoyed the story and characters. Ending was brutal.
Game crashed once. At least two or three times Kenny spoke a line but the sound wasn't there. Load times are fairly long. And the game sometimes freezes for a few seconds in the middle of action while loading certain things.
Even with all of those flaws it was a complete joy to play this game. Very intense at times.
