3DS = little kids
NGPC = classy late-20's/early-30's couples who would rather sit on the couch with a drink than go out to a noisy club
Actually, I have this theory that Nintendo thinks they are making the 3DS for today's kids but the market is actually adults in their late 20s to early 40s who are life long fans of Nintendo products.Exhuminator wrote:Recently I asked my wife's 10 year old cousin if he knew what a Vita was. I also asked my daughter's 17 year old boyfriend if he knew what a Vita was. He did not know what a Vita was, and none of his friends have one either. He did know what a 3DS is. But he said no one he knew in highschool had a 3DS because they consider the 3DS to be for kids. He said high schoolers only used smartphones for portable gaming.
Do only old dorks play Vita? Do only little kids play 3DS? What is this life?
Well obviously Japan is different, but from what I've seen the split is 50/50.marlowe221 wrote:Actually, I have this theory that Nintendo thinks they are making the 3DS for today's kids but the market is actually adults in their late 20s to early 40s who are life long fans of Nintendo products.Exhuminator wrote:Recently I asked my wife's 10 year old cousin if he knew what a Vita was. The actual kids are playing on phones/tablets. I am 33 and love my 3DS.

Awesome, that's just what I've been doing. I haven't gotten any live aliens yet, but I've researched the stun bomb and launcher, so hopefully I can get some live ones to interrogate. I also want that Hyperwave Decoder.MrPopo wrote:If you've gotten things rolling you should be focusing on research and capturing aliens. Researching live aliens will unlock the ability to progress towards the final objective of the game.

I agree with your theory based on what I've seen in real life. When I see a kid playing games in a portable fashion, it's always on a phone or more rarely a tablet. As much as it pains me to say it, dedicated handheld gaming systems are a relic of the past, and are primarily sought after by those who grew up with such devices. To be honest it makes sense that this has become the case.marlowe221 wrote:Actually, I have this theory that Nintendo thinks they are making the 3DS for today's kids but the market is actually adults
