You can always change yourself, but it's difficult.

No need to be Mr. Blind Optimism, but you do seem to have an irrationally negative outlook at times.
Says the man with a creepy, depressed looking Luigi for his avatar.

And I don't want to change myself, as I feel that I'll start attracting the wrong people. All the people I know who are overly happy and positive are people I don't like. They're annoying, and it generally leads to the crowd full of slutty girls and man whores who don't care about anything but sex and the next designer drug they're going to grab.
I'm sorry, but this is a bunch of straight up stupid nonsense.

I can give you reasons, but you won't like them.

For some reason when people say "Maybe you should try being a little less negative" you keep hearing "You could be overly optimistic and happy-go-lucky." That's not what people are saying at all.

There's no reason that changing your attitude a little means you have to suddenly start hanging out with people you don't like or being in crowds you don't want to be part of.

Fact is, people think you're depressed all the time. You don't want people to think this. You could fix this by trying to adopt a slightly less negative attitude. I don't see what the problem is.

Shy people often find that they need to work on being more outgoing. They don't suddenly become different people when they do this.

I don't want to change, its just how I am!

The phrase "just be yourself" is the biggest bunch of bullshit I've ever heard.

Then don't fucking complain when people think you're depressed.

How dense do you have to even be to think "Be yourself" means "Stand firm in your refusal to do anything about your personality flaws."

Well, I was taught that's something you don't bring up to people. You don't talk about their moods or thoughts, because they already know how they feel and what they think. I say I'm in a bad mood or something every once in a while, and everybody thinks I'm despondent mass of uselessness.

Anyways, you guys get the majority of my bullshit, seeing as I don't have anybody else to talk over it with. I don't want to bother my family or friends with it, so I push it all on here.
