It's a perfect movie for the kids. It's Superman, so most kids will eat it up. And it's definitely good enough for adults to enjoy, it's pretty awesome.

The Mario Bros. movie feels like it was made by people who read up on the "story" of the games, but never actually played them.

I still remember seeing it in theaters back when it was first released. My father was very confused.

I really need to stop asking you to explain yourself about films and expect anything that makes a modicum of sense. Not only are you totally off base about the place of Harold and Kumar go to White Castle in the history of cinema (both in terms of precedent and influence), but you clearly have a total lack of appreciation for the comedy subgenres in which it fits (gross-out and stoner comedy, mostly). For those genres, H&K is a pretty solid film.

And nothing against Tim Curry in Clue, but that's far from his best work.

Not total. I'm a huge fan of Kevin Smith and I do love Detroit Rock City. My beef with films like Harold And Kumar is that instead of using gross-out/toilet humor as an occasional element, but not the primary one (as in Clerks 2, which only has a few gross-out scenes, you know the ones), they seem to build the entire movie around it and in recent years, comedy films have been getting dumber and more crude, as if there's a competition to see who can top who. The implication is that they think those kind of "jokes" are inherently funny. They're not, and if that's all a film has to offer, than I'm not interested. Sorry.

Ah yeah I should be more specific: my eldest child is 3. So I have to get a sitter. I think we're going to be taking her to her first movie later this year when The Little Mermaid is re-released.

Great Pop and Son movie. If I had, say, a twelve year old son, or was a Scout Master, I'd take the entire crew. My favorite thing about the movie is the presence of a Father and Son bond (even if it's an "Earth" Dad Kevin Costner bond).

Don't think MOS will age any better than SMReturns (Over time a LOT of critics will say Returns was a much better film and full of wasted talent and a possible running franchise)

The rest of the few comments posted have my head swimming. H&K killed in total revenue (merch/bo/dvd/bluray) but I'd rather watch TO GRANDMA'S HOUSE WE GO any given day. It accomplished what it set out to, which was make to make a stupid movie for stupid people, so "Yay!", but if I had a magical eraser that could wipe a film off our blue marble, I'd start with H&K way before I even got to the TWILIGHT series.

BRAVE should have been titled "BRAT".

I agree. It's not bad, but it's nowhere near their best work. That's why it was so frustrating to see it win the Oscar when any one of the other nominees would have been a better choice. Seriously, if they're going to give the award to Pixar almost every single year whether they deserve it or not, why do they even bother having an animated feature category? Very frustrating.
