Thoughts;
I've played NSMBU off and on since I got the system for Christmas, as it came packed in. Rolled the credits, but there's still plenty more there that could be done if I were inclined to. I didn't really find it that compelling, so it was hard to stick with playing it. It doesn't do much wrong, but also nothing new or interesting.
I did like that it didn't use any hardware gimmicks. It's a straightforward, HD 2D Mario game that pretty much does exactly what you'd expect based on Mario 3/World/etc. Seemed a little more like World than NSMB2 did, which is the only other NSMB game I've spent much time with.

I WANT to like the game. I'm sure we've all had games where we've heard great things about, but once we played it we realized it just wasn't for us. DC is starting to look like that for me.
It looks beautiful. It's a beat 'em up with RPG elements. What's not to like? I dunno, but so far it's not clicking with me.
I'm hoping it's just one of those games that starts slow and gets better the more you play it. I hope....

I liked it better then Code of Princess personally and that one gets a lot of love I think.

An absolute blast to play on either the Wii or Vita.
Hmm that sounds a little bit more my style. I may have to check it out.

It is in the repetition that this games loses play-ability.

54. Ys II (PSP - Ys I & II Chronicles)
55. Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi (PSP - Sega Genesis Collection)
56. Gradius (PSP - Gradius Collection)
57. Shinobi (Xbox 360 - Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection)
58. Otomedius Excellent (Xbox 360)
59. Deathsmiles (Xbox 360)
60. Sonic the Hedgehog (Xbox 360 - Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection)
61. The Lost Vikings (SNES)
62. The Lost Vikings (Genesis)A great game and a childhood favorite of mine. It's also this month's Together Retro selection.
I rolled through two different versions in five days. The SNES original I had played many times before, the Genesis port was a PAX East pick-up and completely new to me.
I won't discuss the ins-and-outs of the game, as we already have a
very nice write-up featured on the site.
The SNES game is a bit better overall. The music has more punch to it and the controls are infinitely superior - I found the Genesis controls to be somewhat awkward even with a 6-button controller.
The Genesis port, however, does feature some exclusive cutscenes and five (challenging) bonus levels. You really can't go wrong either way.
Looking forward to seeing who else finishes the game this month.

If you end up putting Dragon's Crown aside but want to continue the RPG / Beat Em' Up trend, check out Sacred Citadel. It's a fantastic game that makes both of those genres work quite well together.

Thank you for the recommendation. I may check it out.
So far, I'm sticking with DC. As long as I play it in small doses it's ok. Gets boring and repetative otherwise. I bought it new, so I am going to at least beat the main storyline.

A couple random updates:
- Unreal Gold - PC - in coop with Ack and Xentrix. It took us three weeks, but it was full of us trying to kill eachother with the pushing the flak cannon and 8ball with various ravines and traps. It really just made me want to play UT99 again.
- Neo Turf Masters - NGPC - Beat Triple Crown with three strokes over on Japan, par on USA, and one over on Germany. It helps that I have played it alot in the arcade.
- Sonic Pocket - NGPC - Aside from my numerous flashbacks to Sonic 2, this is a solid game and highly recommended if you like 2d Sonic games.
