Was working on a server before break whose host name was "harrier". I was so tempted to change the motd to ascii art spelling out "Welcome to the fantasy zone!".

USPS has (or had) a server named Voltron at one point.

Well what else do you name a computer that is made out of robot lions?

My job is the Internet sooooo....

Work: 9hrs
Home: 4hrs

So about 13hrs a day. This is true for weekends as well...

My boss created a script on one of our Linux servers back in the day, where if you typed "why" at the command line it scrolled out "Because sh*t happens!" in big ASCII letters.

The Worlds Oldest Typewriter repairman recently passed away at the age of 96 after 80 years on the job.

Its stories like these that make me take a good hard look at our world today. He started his job at 16, and worked on it until he passed.

What's truly sad is that we rarely have that type of service these days. We live in a world where if it breaks you go out and get a new one, rarely do things get fixed and repaired.

And they were usually TV repair shops that also did VCRs and later CD players. I remember growing up, we took the family TV and VCR to get repairs several times.

I recognized I have a compulsive buying problem but I never seem to be able to fight myself. I always fall victim to it. I don't understand!

Because now a days repairs end up costing more than the item itself most of the time.

I feel you man! Sometimes i'll spend my paycheck before I even receive it. And whenever I try to save, all these good deals start popping up. Saving up for my PS4 is starting to become a living hell.
