I have never heard of this, but it sounds like the best movie of all time. Maybe Luke will reconsider his Man of Steel ranking after he views it?
Seriously, though, this sounds immensely fun. Where did you watch it, cookie? Is it streaming anywhere? I pretty much only watch art and classic films on Hulu+ and Netflix; so, this would be a nice change of pace.
Also, the Spy in Black (1939) is a superb espionage drama, and The House on Telegraph Hill (1951) is now among my favoriter film noirs.
What was the last movie you've seen?

Loved it.
OOGA BOOGA
Liked it, but I've seen better Full Moon films. I've also seen worse, though.

If they use an actual raccoon in Guardians I will be floored. Happy at that too.
Of course that little guy can't hold a gun, but "scurrying" scenes with an actual raccoon would be lots of fun.

Here's hoping it looks like this in the actual movie.Luke wrote:If they use an actual raccoon in Guardians I will be floored. Happy at that too.

Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Liked it a lot, but still think that the first one was better.

SUPERMAN (1978)
After seeing MAN OF STEEL, I felt like I had to re-watch this (and Donner's II cut).
Yes, it has some very silly parts, but overall it has aged very well. I'd even say the special effects look better than the ones in Raimi's Spider-Man.
Classic.

My man.
See this is what I tell my friend Rod. He refuses to accept that Superman 78 stands the test of time (for the most part). Yes part of it for me is probably nostalgia, but being an 'original' movie, it gives us Kal El's origin, move to the big city, and his becoming everyone's favorite hero and it does it really well. It doesn't get boring, even in the slower "can you read my mind" part.
I thought Hackman's portrayal of Luthor was great for the era's version of Luthor as well. I love, love, love this movie. The Donner Cut of SII is awesome too! It's a bummer he didn't get to finish his vision back then and we got some test footage of Reeve before he bulked up and so on. But still, if you can put that aside, the Donner Cut is so much better than the original Superman II. (But I do like SII).
I cannot wait for MAN OF STEEL. I saw the latest "nokia trailer" and it looks amazing. It just looks amazing.

There's just one part that makes me cringe a bit, and that's Louis's "poem" when she's flying around with Superman.Luke wrote:SUPERMAN (1978)

The other silliness and weird stuff I can just roll with, it's all in good fun and definitely an enjoyable movie.
I said it elsewhere, but Reeve seriously nails the Superman/Clark dynamic. He actually really sells them as being separate identities, he's almost unrecognizable as Clark. Gotta love Hackman's Luthor, too. He handles that particular version of the character extremely well.
How'd you like the Donner cut of II?
For me, it's definitely rough around the edges and feels a tad 'incomplete' because of the way they had to reconstruct it, but overall I think I prefer it to the original theatrical cut.
