My uncle's house, where I spent a lot of time with my cousins growing up, burned completely to the ground. He lost everything. It would be appreciated if your thoughts and prayers could go out to him. He's the nicest guy you'd ever meet, he'd give you the shirt off of his back; it's a shame this happened to him.
That really sucks, BD. I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. Where are you guys located?
Redding, CA. About 2 1/2 to 3 hours north of Sacramento.

And thanks everyone for the kind words.

Sorry to hear that, BD.

Does the thought "I should move on from this/I should quit doing this/I should do this instead" indicate I'm in need of a change?

I have no idea what you need, but it sounds like you want one. If there isn't a big reason why you shouldn't change something, just go ahead I say. Is this because of boredom or restlessness or just wanting to do something with yourself?

If so, I'm in the same place. I haven't accumulated enough resources to be independent yet - at least in the traditional sense. I have toyed with the idea of getting a job and then becoming a vagabond with a YMCA membership. With almost zero overhead, I could save up a pile of money, enjoy nature, and do whatever I want while enjoying the benefits of civilization that I care about - including videogames. I'll just keep a PSP in my backpack...

Do not let me be an influence on you

Every other day I hear about a new fire here on the news. I wish the best of luck to your uncle and wish he finds better times soon. He sounds like a great man. It really sucks when this kind of stuff happens to good people.

How many hours do you guys spend on the internet daily? I find my life is being consumed away on forums, Youtube, and Wikipedia. I can easily burn 3 hours just catching up with news and looking things up.

Even worse, I have browser tabs that are open for months that I do not get time to check them out

Average day
School - 12 hours (class time, drive time, study)
Sleep - 5 hours
Exercise - 1 hour
Internet or other hobby - 6 hours

Weekend
School - 2-4 hours (just study)
Sleep - 5-6 hours
Exercise - 1-2 hours
Internet or other hobby - 12-16 hours, good old fashioned binging time, fuck the world right now

No regrets

Weekdays:
Eight to nine hours during work, maybe another hour or two at home. The only caveat is Thursdays since I come home and play games with friends so upwards of fourteen hours those days.

Weekends:
Three or four hours, most of which is Netflix or email. I hate browsing on a touch screen and my netbooks are in a sad state now (heavily used daily for four years will do that), so I need to get a new portable computer, I wont be online much on the weekends.

I make sure to take a break every thirty minutes or so during the work day.

Hard to say. Most of my school work involves being online, but I don't think that counts.

I leave myself logged onto sites like Racketboy even when I'm not actually browsing/posting, so while it may seem like I'm on here a lot that isn't true. I'd say I only "screw around" on the internet (forums, email, whatever) about an hour total per day, the rest of the time is dedicated to school.

I don't work, I spend all day with my baby girl. I wake up a couple of hours before her to exercise, shower, eat. Then I'm with her constantly until she takes an afternoon nap (usually for 2 hours). At this time I wash dishes (takes a while because of all the bottles and whatnot), and then catch up on homework.

Once baby goes to bed I usually have class/schoolwork, and then maybe an hour or two of "fun" time (reading, gaming, internet, guitar, whatever) before bed.

Weekends are easier cuz the wife is home.

I just feel like I need to change something. I don't know what or really why, but I feel like something needs to change. I've gotten to where certain things don't interest me anymore- certain types of music, almost all TV, certain relationships, etc.- even though they've been big things for me otherwise. The loss of interest in certain music types really surprises me, as I've fallen into the same rut as my sister where I'm pretty much stuck in a certain rut for music, despite claiming I never would be. I'm also really restless at home, which is NOT normal for me. I get up, walk around, look for things to do, and just mostly feel bored.

I've also been more talkative, honest, and open lately, which is also odd for me. I just don't really know what to do.
