I def agree with you man. Like I scored a genesis/n64 lot for 10 bucks the other day at a habitat for humanity shop in my town. I sold the genesis with 2 controllers all the hooks ups, nba jam, earthworm jim, sonic 1/2, and bulls vs lakers for 20 bucks to this lady that emailed me about it on the craigslist. She stated she wanted it for her son who was turning 8 and she really couldnt afford a new-gen system.
I enjoy sharing retro gaming with other people especially the younger children now a days who think video games have to involve aliens, big guns, 3D/HD graphics and big price tags. (or some type of WAR related b/s).
So for 20 bucks that lady got her 8 year old the best damn thing she could of found for that price that her kid can have fun with for a long time, look up info about it, find different games, figure out cheat codes lol etc. It will open up a whole new world to him. and as a retro gaming enthusiast..this puts a smile on my face.

I find this is what you generally will find at most pawn shops, however you occasionally will find a nice gem there, so they're always worth checking out if you're in the area.BoringSupreez wrote:My pawn shops totally suck. All they have is beat-up old sports titles for too much money.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
luckily i have this pawn shop in my town that has literally no idea whats worth what. Like they have set prices on nes/snes games except the "popular" titles; your zelda's,mario's, contra's, donkey kongs etc. Like the ps2-gamecube-xbox games are anywhere from 3.95-14.95. Ive been thinking about picking up a copy of ICO they have had sitting up there for awhile but the have a 11.95 price tag on it and im just waiting for the price to drop on it lol. Also they had a zelda:twilight princess for the cube for 4.95 but I happend to be dead broke and the next day I went back it was flippin gone! I was pissed lol I try to buy bulk when I go in there usually to get a lesser price. Buying in bulk is the key to scoring good deals!!

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I know a really awesome pawn shop that charges a flat rate of $5 for everything that's not current-gen (and they have a great selection too, got JSRF there). Just my luck, though: it's way inconvenient to go to. It's in a super-tiny town (think >20 residents) in the middle of nowhere.AppleQueso wrote:I find this is what you generally will find at most pawn shops, however you occasionally will find a nice gem there, so they're always worth checking out if you're in the area.BoringSupreez wrote:My pawn shops totally suck. Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
thought i'd post a few of my recent finds:
Sega Saturn, Genesis (model 2), broken wired 360 controller, ps1 demo disc, daytona usa (saturn) and a 360 Power brick - $20
Bucky O' Hare - Free (label faded and damaged)
Sonic Shuffle (Not for Resale Version) - $5
Maxx MAXXPLAY - $5 - I had to buy this after seeing a video about it. Initially I thought it was just another cheap junk tv game thing. Wish some one would get the games off this thing they look like fun.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
It's very difficult to find any retro games at all, so when something comes along it makes it so much more special. (Everything is PAL by the way.)
I saw an ad online for a Saturn, a N64 and a Dreamcast for 80 euros. The seller agreed to let go of the Saturn and games for 30 euros (no cables though).
I went to pick it up and we started chatting. The young lady selling the stuff was leaving the country and her husband is a retro gamer who told her to sell his extra stuff to somebody who would appreciate it. Apparently I qualified.
So for 30 euros I got:

Unfortunately the Saturn does not read discs at all.
I'll mess around with it but the laser seems dead. Also, the boxes placed vertically in the photo, are actually empty. She couldn't find the discs.
Still not a bad price for the remaining games and pads. I do have another Saturn on which to play them, even though it's giving me problems as well.
Now the good part. Since they are leaving the country soon and since apparently I seem to be a nice guy
she told me to take everything else that was left for free. I took it obviously but gave her another 10 euros since I felt bad.
This is what I got. Everything works and the N64 joysticks are like new. Dreamcast is much quieter than the one I already have.

Most interesting is a pre-production version of Spirit of Speed for the Dreamcast. Totally different box and packaging from the retail PAL DC games.

City Union thrift store. They had some oXbox games. Got Star Wars Knights of the old republic CIB including registration card for $2.99. I don't have a xbox but I figured I could trade it to some on here. pm if interested.
