Your first marathon? How did it go?
Not my first marathon. Ran it in 3 hours 7 minutes. Since I'm 29 years old I Boston Qualified. Honestly though not a huge runner, prefer explosive lifts such as the olympic lifts. I ran the marathon because I wanted to be an inspiration for my clients.
Cool man. I'm shooting for a Boston qualifier myself, maybe this fall. I really don't know if I would eventually run Boston though, it's a bit too crowded for my tastes.

I don't hate ASOIAF, but I feel it's very over-rated (even though I hate that term). My opinion of S-tier fantasy? Wheel of Time and Lord of the Rings aw yeah!
But really, Malazan Book of the Fallen, Gormenghast, Chronicles of Thomas Covenant (first few anyway), and The Prince of Nothing (Second Apocalypse series). We've talked about the Prince of Nothing/Second Apocalypse series before actually, although you may not remember (was very brief and at least a year ago). These series go far beyond any levels ASOIAF reach in my opinion.
For the record though I honestly prefer Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time, and even the Monarchies of God series to ASOIAF.
Actually I do remember that conversation about Prince of Nothing. I was wondering if you'd mention them in fact. I really tried to like that series, but the quality of the writing wasn't enough to overpower the things about it that annoyed me.
I've heard of all of those (but have yet to try them unfortunately, even though I have Gardens of the Moon) with the exception of Monarchies of God, which sounds interesting. I'll be looking in to that, so thanks.
