This is my take on Hollywood in general these days.

No not really. Autotune is instant fail. It's a pretty bad film. It tried to be shot for shot but then leaves out parts that were needed in the animated film.
So, here's the thing. I agree with you that obvious autotune is problematic. I also think slavish adherence to the animated Disney original is problematic. But looking at the critical reviews in details, it's clear this isn't a bad film. It might be unnecessary and have some problems, but the general critical consensus seems to be that it's pretty entertaining. Also, that reply is pretty dismissive of noise. All that said, I don't expect I would like it much, because I don't need that kind of rehash in my life right now.
Reviews don't mean anything. They said TMNT 1990 was a horrible film. It's not. Star Trek Into Darkness has am 86 on Rotten reviews. It's a POS film. The Thing 1982 trashed in reviews. It's a Wonderful Life..trashed in reviews. Star Wars Episode 3 good reviews. Superman Returns good reviews.
Critics are often wrong. People could have easily given it favorable reviews because it brought the animated film to live action but failed to analyze it. I will say they were right about Out of The Shadows and Bats vs Supes but even then feel they are too highly rated.

It's all subjective. No critic is going to make you like something you hate or vice versa. I see no need for the live action Disney remakes and haven't seen any of them so far, but plenty of people like them and their enjoyment doesn't inconvenience me in the least.
That answers nothing unless the lions are human beings and the film is now an airline drama.

I can't speak to all the Disney live action films, but The Jungle Book was awesome.

I feel like we are starting to run outta things to reboot. After Top Gun, It, Scarface, The Craft, Big Trouble Little China, The Blob, Hellraiser, Starship Troopers, The Crow, Etc Etc What is there left? Has Hollywood givin up on original ideas? Or have we embraced remakes with our cash so much so that its a dumb idea to not try to remake something...

Unfortunately rote familiarity is comforting and reassuring to most people.

As long as it's fake CGI lens flare I am in.
