E3
Re: E3
Do you ever wonder if the big companies are clued in to some of these updates/released/projects before they're announced? Or do you think there's oh shit moments full of table flipping and panic when this news drops? Because Sony rocked Microsofts face off and I own an Xbone.
What is Nintendo feeling right now?
PS we broke Kickstarter. Shenmue 3 is happening!

Re: E3
As far as Sony vs MS, something interesting: I heard someone say that basically "Sony focused on straight up games since they're in such a good position, and MS understandably focused a little more on improving their console experience since they're trying to catch up."Blu wrote:Do you ever wonder if the big companies are clued in to some of these updates/released/projects before they're announced? I don't think that statement is "wrong", but I'm sorry don't people yet understand that it's all about the games??? If you took Shenmue and FF Remake from Sony's presentation and put them into MS's what do you think people would be saying today? Those were the two that swung it in Sony's favor. Everything else in both presentations amounted to "Here's some new games we're working on, some you're already familiar with." That's the ONLY reason Sony 'won'.

I don't think that was the only reason they one actually. I found that there was a perfect level of build up of games that when you hit that point, you blew your top. I was almost as excited for The Last Guardian as I was for Shenmue 3, I was intrigued and excited for Horizon (a game that I had no clue what it was and was completely won over), I was charmed by Firewatch and interested, I was already in love with No Man's Sky, but again, that will never change and I am on board for that.Snatch1414 wrote: If you took Shenmue and FF Remake from Sony's presentation and put them into MS's what do you think people would be saying today? What really happened was that Shenmue 3 and Final Fantasy HD 7 (A game I am not really excited for, but I am so happy people got what they wanted. They have waited almost as long as I have with Shenmue) were the orgasm to a series of foreplay that Sony was performing.
Sony didn't drop a car from the ceiling and for that I applaud them.

I don't know the answer to your question, I'm guessing companies go to great lengths to hide a lot of their big announcements. With that said, and as an owner of all three current gen consoles, I disagree that Sony rocked MS's face. FFVII will come to the Bone eventually, and it wouldn't shock me if a stretch goal brought Shenmue to the Bone as well.Blu wrote:Do you ever wonder if the big companies are clued in to some of these updates/released/projects before they're announced? Backwards compatibility will be a huge deal if it runs well. With the exception of Last Guardian (which I'm still skeptical about given it's development hell), I'm still more interested in Xbox One exclusives. I'm still surprised PS4 has the lead that it has given that literally the only good exclusive they have well over a year into life is Bloodborne.
Don't get me wrong, I'm buying all my multiplatform games on PS4, but I thought the conferences were fairly even. FFVII being a permanent exclusive would've been huge. I do wonder how timed exclusives impact sales of consoles.

Forgot Last Guardian. Obviously that was another one that people wanted. They hit all the right "geek out" notes and MS didn't really hit any other than that Rare collection, which was cool.BogusMeatFactory wrote:I don't think that was the only reason they one actually. I don't really care who drops a car from the ceiling. I think both companies showed off more games than I'll even be able to play in a year, so it's all good. I actually think whether or not you believe MS matched Sony depends on how you feel about Holo Lens. I'm interested enough that I put their presentation just slightly behind Sony's, but not equal. The ridiculous price of that new controller put a damper on it for me too.

Re: E3
The best thing about this E3 is there are games for both systems that interest me.
