I have no rhythm. I can't even fake it.

I can play music games like Rez, Amplitude, Frequency, Guitar Hero and Rock Band, but they at least had indications of when to hit it right. Space Channel 5 has none as you need to have some sort of rhythm to keep up with the music. I would hit the Simon Says indications, but they would all be wrong and I would just fail miserably.

It's actually quite funny how hilariously bad I am at the game. I never beat the first level and I knew that I wouldn't get any further. I just don't have the skill to beat it or play any further. I'm sorry Ulala!
I found Space Channel 5 to have some pretty narrow timing windows too. It's a pretty tough game.

Parappa the Rapper was worse though. I 100%ed Rhythm Heaven, beat Gitaroo Man on hard and play on the hardest difficulty of Project DIVA F, but I still struggle to beat stage 2 of Parappa consistently.

I couldn't get past the Monkey Clock thing in Rhythm Heaven Fever. Hardest game Nintendo has made since the 80s.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

I have not played Rhythm Heaven. I'll be very curious to try Parappa the Rapper and Gitaroo Man in the future.

I can hit the prompts when they tell me to. However, if I have to keep up the beat independently than I am going to fail. I can't 100% any music game, but I can at least get to the point where I can beat it. I can't even beat the first level in Space Channel 5. I think the highest I got was like 10%.

I was saddened to sell it as it had an interesting vibe, bright graphics and I like Ulala. But, I am just hilariously bad at it. I watched a long play of it and the game just gets harder. I saw what I wanted to saw and I moved on. I bow to anybody that can play that game because that is a skill I do not have.

For those having a hard time with the pure rhythm games, I suggest moving your body and especially your feet to the game. I look like a buffoon, singing and pounding to the music, but it works.

You all aren't crazy though, it took me a very long time to get space channel 5 right and I still can't beat it. The asteroid level near the very end is vicious!

I beat Space Channel 5 and Parappa. Space Channel 5 I felt I did with skill though. Parappa I feel like I just got lucky.

It's easier to freestyle in Parappa than it is to just copy the patterns because they're so specific with the timing.

I only have the second Space Channel 5 game and I reach the gameover screen in the tutorial...

I'm not even lying. I've never got past the tutorial. Beyond the first 30 seconds of the game is mystery to me. For all I know, the game could transform into a GTA clone, with Ulala stealing vehicles and firing rockets at pedestrians, all in time to the music. I will never know.

Fatal Fury (Super Nintendo)

Ugh, this game is frustrating. I can throw fireballs in my sleep. I can spam them for 99 seconds and never miss a single one. Then I play this game and I cannot even throw a single one. Nothing about this game is refined. The jumping feels weird and the AI is so incredibly cheap. None of my attacks have any kick back so after I attack, they immediately attack and probably do more damage. None of the characters jump as they just plod along spamming the same attack over and over. The arcade games are fine as I have played them in the past. These Takara ports are just awful...
