When does global warming actually show up in real life?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Bananas are actually a risky crop. The modern banana is highly engineered (cross-breeding and hybridization). There are only two major varieties grown for worldwide markets, and at least one has already demonstrated being very vulnerable to a particular fungus, I think. And that particular cultivar was a replacement for an older, tastier cultivar that was replaced largely because it was almost completely wiped out by some kind of disease or fungus that the newer one is resistant to.

Whatever benefits mass crop monoculture gets us, it does have a certain element of catastrophic risk.

Now if the tastier cultivar had been engineered with the biological equivalent of automated turrets we might still be able to enjoy it.

I thought you were against those damn libs and welfare? Back on topic though, I think the Illuminati and NWO is probably behind this whole "global warming" thing. I mean, shit, we coulda bought a few more nukes with that money.

Yes, I'm being sarcastic.

The Cavendish is the current major commercial cultivar. It replaced the Gros Michel. I have heard the Gros Michel is tastier. I want to try one.

I recommend this book to everyone in case you wish to learn how the current system is ruining the future for all of us, humans, mammals and many other lifeforms. Ideologues needn't apply, they're part of the problem not the solution.
