Re: Erik Twice Reviews -Thief FM: Heist Society - A

Post by Erik_Twice »

Writing about Thief fan missions is very fun and Heist Society is one of the good ones! I'm really enjoying this aspect of the game and writing short reviews means I can tell my flaws apart with ease so they are helping me improve a lot :)

TL;DR: Play PC games, you numbnut

Re: Erik Twice Reviews -I review OutRun 2 SP (AAA) :D :D :D

Post by Erik_Twice »

I really, really, really love OutRun 2 SP. To me it's not just one of the best driving games ever made, it's close to being one of the best games I've played even if it's not in the same range as Netrunner or Chess.

It's very cheap so I recommend it quite heartly.

Great read as always. Outrun 2006 is a regular in my ps2, only ever beaten out by shmups and bemani. The game is just phenomenal, and is always a joy to play.

In fact, I'll be popping this in as soon as I get home.

Thanks! It's one of the best reaosns to own a PSP, you can play it on the go five minutes at a time and it's really deep.

I'm not surprised you like it if you like shmups, though, seems like the kind of game that appeals to fans of shooting games

Re: Erik Twice Reviews - Indulgence is a Thief fan mission

Post by Erik_Twice »

I keep playing Thief fan missions because I'm addicted. However, I still demand some semblance of quality and A Keeper of the Prophecies is probably the worst thing I've played in years despite having a lot of potential. Play something else instead.

Keeper of the Prophecies, A - D

And yes, I'm aware of the irony of claiming a work is indulgent when all you write about is Netrunner and Thief II fan missions.

Re: Erik Twice Reviews - The Republic of Rome - AAA

Post by Erik_Twice »

I've mentioned The Republic of Rome a lot in this forum as an example of narrative in games and I already listed as one of the games a critic would really benefit from playing but I never expanded on those thoughts. Well, now I reviewed it and while it's not a game for everyone, I think some people out there will really enjoy it.

I'm on the minority, but I don't think Psychonauts is a great game. In fact, it seems to me the worst part of Psychonauts is everything that makes it a game while everything great about it is already presented through other mediums. It's simply not a game you would play for its gameplay, which makes you wonder why it's a game in the firsty place if that's the case.

I thought the review turned out very well and I was very fair so I look foward to reading your comments :)

I've always saw myself as the guy who had some controversial opinions here and there but when I sat down to play Grand Theft Auto V for the first time, I didn't actually expect to hate it as much as I did but it's a shallow, uninteresting game drenched in ugly, Adam Sandler-like satire and with moments of misguided pretense.

Here's my review. Tell me what you think:

Re: Erik Twice Reviews - At last! Gradius II in review

Post by Erik_Twice »

I'm back and I finally did it it! I reviewed Gradius II which you guys know I liked very much. It was a difficult review to write, I've been stuck with it for a while, but it gave me a deeper appreciation of a game that deep down I had taken for granted.

Also check out this screenshot, it's totally awesome :)

Post by Erik_Twice »

Beign a zombified remake of a video game from 1971, Organ Trail doesn't exactly have great mechanics. But it has a great premise and it's short enough to make me not regret playing it a couple of times. Here's my review:

Organ Trail - C

Even if you don't like the game, check out the soundtrack because it's one of the best ones I've heard in a while.
