More or less...

By the way, the only port I ever tried was Crazy Taxi on Xbox Live. It wasn't half the game the DC version was. Different music, bad handling, sound effects completely wrong. Total let-down...

Hopefully other DC ports are a little better...

You know, i was going to sell my dreamcast a while ago. I was going to buy just dreamcast games until May when i got my dreamcast last year from my birthday. I'd figure if I buy a couple title and not play the system I was going to sell it. It's because of people like noise, and cd ages and a feww other people I also think hoobie who mad me want to keep my lovely dreamcast by reading about the dreamcast love. So instead I sold off my wii to a friend who wanted it and I hadgreat titles for it also but the dreamcast lives on and I just got a few great Capcom gems for the dreamcast.

Wow, not a bad impersonation of yourself, even down to the total lack of capitalization!

Just bought one of these so I have been giving the old DC some love lately:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VGA-to-Componen ... 51a8e97abd

I have a 27" hd-crt TV that only has component inputs, and this finally let's me use my VGA box on it. I'm running it in 1080i mode as it happens to work best on this set,but I doubt the upscaling makes any difference. Luckily the set will also stretch the wide 1080 signal vertically to fix the aspect ratio. Awesome buy for anyone trying to get that VGA quality on a component only set.

Anyway, I played THPS2 the other day and beat the career mode with a custom character. Still such a great game and by far my favorite port. Very pretty on the DC and the park editor is still simple but powerful.

Played PSO v2 for and hour or so but then decided to stop as I have already invested way too much time on episode 1&2 for the GC.

Put a little time into Unreal Tournament, and this is easily the best (and maybe only?) port of the original PC game I know and love. Sure the frame rate crawls on bigger maps but that's how I remember this game anyway. My rig was crap when this game was big.

Oddly enough I have spent the most time playing bleemcast for Gran Turismo 2. I had an urge for some GT but my ps2 wasn't hooked up so I decided to try out this seldom used disc. The idea of it alone brings a smile to my face. A Dreamcast running ps1 games in 480p with texture filtering and anti aliasing? Freaking sweet. Plus while Gt4 and 5 seem to be all about pure precision, GT2 seems more arcadey in the sense I can easily power slide cars around corners. Great fun.

I pretty much fire up the DC a few times a year and just enjoy goodness. NFL2K1 reminds me how football games SHOULD have evolved. The character progression of SF Alpha 3 and the unlockables of MvsC2 and Capcom vs SNK will never get old for me (not to mention the fighting). Mark of the Wolves not too shabby either.

Any time I need an injection of great 2D fighting this is where I go, with a small helping of Crazy Taxi and Bass and Marine Fishing. Fun fact: Sega Marine Fishing was the only game a past gf got hooked on (no pun intended). I actually was sick of playing games with her after awhile lol.

ATLONA VGA to HDMI converter box is perhaps your best bet. They're pretty damn pricey though. I actually found one this week for only fraction of the price they go for. I look forward to playing Sturmwind in upscaled 720p on my LED set.

I got a cheap VGA to HDMI box from MCM Electronics and it works fine on my TV. It isn't an upscaler, so the TV does any of that work. Looks a lot better than SVGA for certain.
