Anyone Collect or Still Listen to Vinyl?

In general, when I find metal on vinyl, that's the majority I find, besides on specialty stores. Occasionally I find stuff that isn't, but when I find death metal, grindcore and the like on something besides CD, its usually on tape.
I haven't had any trouble finding death metal and grindcore on vinyl in my poking around, but I'm also doing most of my shopping online.

Yeah, its probably different then. Most of mine has been found in person besides my Amon Amarth picture disc, so I might be in the wrong.

I just got into collecting vinyl. I love it cause it practically forces me to listen to the whole album instead of skipping to the hits. Just recently I picked up The Power Station and Skid Row. My collection isnt big but started collecting in April.

I got on vinyl:
Judas Priest
Motley Crue
Poison
Blink 182
Power Station
Skid Row
Van Halen
Icehouse
Dokken

Looking to find King Diamond and Mercyful Fate albums.

I'm hoping to nab Don't Break The Oath and Abigail at some point myself. Abigail seems pretty expensive right now! I might just wait and see if a reissue comes around at some point.

I know you can get a picture disc of Don't Break The Oath pretty easily right now, but I'm not a fan of picture discs.

Same here. Don't really like picture discs. I have seen non picture discs go for 30 on eBay and have also seen them go for almost 50. I'm always nervous to spend all that money to have my favorite or any song skip.

Vinyl is really only good for improved analog sources IMO. Lot's of CD reissues of those 70's/80's albums came from a lot of late generation and dodgy sources... usually a country-of-origin first press LP came from the master tape. With a proper setup the vinyl can sound amazing... know what you all have and don't wear your vinyl out with cheap USB turntables and the like people! (Unless you feel like it... :P )

Ive been looking for a new turntable for awhile, and instead of buying a used one and trying to fix it I think I am just going to spring for an Audio Technica AT-LP60. Its the one you can still buy new at a whitebox store, though I would get it through Amazon.

Most of my records are jazz, but that is the kind of music that is best through a record player.
