To our friend Breetai. We're all going to miss you buddy.

That is indeed a great photo! Thank you again for this and for the update. I would think it's rare for family to do this in a time like this, but we are eternally grateful.

Many of us here also remember Breetai for his avatar of Maruko chan. Apparently, he really liked this show. It was so heartwarming to hear him -with this picture - talk about his daughter. It would melt the iciest heart with how much warmth and love he exhibited. Surely his memory will never be forgotten here.

I was not going to get on the forums until next week, since I am on vacation, but something told me to open them this morning. Breetai was a great man and a good friend. We had many discussions via PM about a plethora of oddball Japanese things and like TrevorF he was always in good spirits. My first real interaction with him via PMs was when he setup a "Im going to Japan what do yall want" thread. So I asked him to get me a loose Coregrafx and a couple games, but to keep it simple. He sent me a CIB Coregrafx, twelve games, three were complete. He told me that he got me more loose games than complete to absorb the cost of the CIB Coregrafx since it was something like $5 more. And since then we always kept up communication.

Breetai, you will be missed.

Well I'm pretty stunned by this news. I'm glad his little girl is ok though.

I'll echo what others have already said, his knowledge and his will to help others made him one of the key members of this community and he will be very much missed.

Condolences and best wishes to his family.

Just put what was left in my paypal towards the fund. All I can do at the moment. My thoughts and prayers are with the Cheslock family.

I haven't been lurking on the forums for a bit since I try to stay off the Internet during Holidays. I was bored at work so I checked the forums and received this shocker. Looks like I picked a good time to check. I don't know how horrible I'd feel if I missed this. I didn't know Breetai well, but he made many good posts and I enjoyed his Top 100 Famicom games article. Because of this, I know the world has lost someone great. Certainly this forum has lost someone great.

I'll see about donating/writing a letter/sending condolences. Looks like I missed out on donating towards flowers. Really hoping that Hinako and her mother have enough to get by without Blake's income. I will definitely be wearing a black band around my arm on the first since I can't attend the service. This might sound weird since I'm talking about a dude on the Internet, but after hearing that Breetai was a father and husband I wish I was in the car crash instead of him...

Wow, I can't believe I didn't see this topic sooner.

I didn't know Breetai that well but I always saw him around on the forum. This whole situation is tragic.
