awesome Dave! I agree that the circle room in D gets tedious, but by that point you're so close to the end. I got the bad ending too. But I kinda wanna see the good ending too.

Also, Darkstalkers 3 was much easier than the first, eh?

Just YouTube the good ending. It is lame and is decided primarily by one choice you make in that last scene (a choice I didn't even consider that I might have).

And yeah, Darkstalkers 3 was not very tough at all, but probably the most fun I've had with any entry in the series (I had played the first two previously).

Now I think you have the original Maniac to watch and some Midnight Mutants to go try out

yeah I read what the decision was, and honestly, I had no idea I would have been able to do that then either. I just hit the only button I thought I could, I'm guessing you did the same.

yeah. since you never used any of the other found items twice, the thought never occurred to me that I had something to use.

would you agree that D is two hours well spent though?

Yeah, but mostly because of my appreciation of the era/what it represented. The game isn't one I'd recommend to just anyone.

oh no, certainly not. I agree. And I think you know I share a similar fondness for that era as well. But it's certainly a unique experience with added charm for fans of the macabre.

Just read that it was created with three Amigas. 8) The production info here is fascinating: http://www.1up.com/features/kenji-eno-breaks-silence

Also interesting: he swapped the master copy after it had been ESRB approved for a more violent one to "bypass" the censors.

I've played a bit more RE: Revelations and it might be the entry I've enjoyed the most since RE4 (which is now more than seven years old  ). I also beat Darkstalkers 2 on less than $1, using only 1 credit until the final boss and 2 on him.

I suspect that RE:R will pretty much wrap up my "Month of Horror" (though I am am considering putting in Dark Seed to see what I can get running and what I think). All in all it has been a fun month to play themed games, but I think I am ready to pursue a different playing trajectory for a while...
