I am fine with Zoop over Puyo. Columns I just dont enjoy it as much as Puyo.

I am hesitant on Deus Ex. Mostly because it is a pc game with a soso PS2 port. I know it is a hallmark title, but so is Midimaze. I know you are looking at it for the podcast dsheinem, it just feels off to me.

RPGwise, Grandia 2 or Riviera are fine by me.

No interest in a WRPG? I feel like we've done several JRPGs so far:

Phanatsy Star
Lunar
Xenogears

...and nothing WRPG!

I think if we go with an FPS we should chose something that is availabe on PC as well, since for many people that is the only way they will play an FPS. Any of iD's games would be obvious choices too, but I thought Deus Ex was one of those games that lots of people know is good but few have played. Other FPS games with console ports to consider:

Duke Nuke 'Em 3D (I'd be really up for a podcast on this one too :))
Hexen
Dark Forces
Unreal Tournament

also, not really a FPS but in the same vein...maybe Descent?

@DSH: I guess I just like JRPG's more. I tried thinking of a WRPG to suggest, but I can't think of any from my own experience...

I'd be cool with Duke Nukem.

A couple of thoughts:

FPS - I know Faceball is boring, but it's also a direct progenitor of the first. It's a piece of history! That said, if we do change it, I'd personally support Dark Forces. It's a great game, but one that I feel gets sadly forgotten when compared with its sequels. It also has been released in Europe.

Puzzle - I saw why not go with Zoop. It's on everything under the sun too, and it's been released in all three regions.

Baseball - What about Major League Baseball with Ken Griffey Jr.? The Nintendo 64 port saw a release in Australia at least. Heck, you could go for all of his games, throwing in Slugfest and Winning Run, and just do Ken Griffey Jr. month. Just a thought. It's still primarily a US series, with the only exception that N64 port.

RPG - Might & Magic II: Gates to Another World. It's a western RPG, which handles Ds' complaint, and some of its ports did see release in Europe, such as the Genesis port.

Fighting - WeaponLord. It's time we all get our asses handed to us. And the SNES port saw a European release.

Strategy - Command & Conquer did see several console releases as well. I guess we could do it.

I'd settle for Dark Forces, but it is no Deus Ex. Faceball is something I'd play for 15 minutes to learn something about it, not for a month.

I think there are more ports of WSB '95, and that series is regarded as one of the best in sports game history.
Fighting - WeaponLord. It's time we all get our asses handed to us. And the SNES port saw a European release.
I could live with this. I suggested the Last Blade series as it is on multiple consoles and there was nothing SNK-related in our list.

for FPS I'd really like to see a "classic" style one... Wolf3D, Doom, Duke Nukem, etc. Though I'm not personally a fan of Faceball, I see why Fast suggested it as far as the historical significance goes.
