Even if they ended up not being usable at some point they would still retain SOME collector's value. because us collectors are batshit crazy.

Truueee Dat!

They sure would. I like having the registration cards for my games, even though I never send them in. So I'm gonna want the DLC cards as well.

You guys are serious?

Anyways, Child Of Eden is probably going to become rare, specially on the PS3. I got my copy from a friend who got a Kinect with a code for Child Of Eden. As soon as he saw the gameplay he said if I wanted the code for 10 bucks. I accepted :D .

Me and my friends have been talking about this topic a lot lately. I think it's almost lazy to say that this gen just won't have valuable games because of higher production numbers caused by higher development costs, online stores, etc. This is probably true but when the dust settles we'll still ultimately have some games more valuable than others. PS2 stuff is my thing but look at prices of it compared to say Saturn games. Doesn't hold a candle to it yet there are still valuable games.

As far as what will be valuable, I could take a few shots in the dark and say JRPGs like Tales of Vesperia. Hyperdimension Neptunia is obviously already valuable. CEs like Uncharted 2 are exceedingly expensive. I'd take a look at Nintendo stuff though. Nintendo is very good at keeping the MSRP high and their games are in enough demand to avoid clearance prices. Games like Mario Kart (DS and Wii), NSMB (DS and Wii), Brawl...these games are literally the most common on their platforms but I expect prices to hold for them over time as they are the most demanded. We won't see over MSRP prices obviously but look at prices for 1st party N64 games, Wind Waker, Melee etc for evidence. I think early Wii and DS stuff may become valuable too. Nintendo really didn't keep the stuff in production because both system's early years were so experimental...the early games really didn't have it figured out yet. Look at Gamestop prices of Tetris DS, Super Princess Peach, Yoshi's Island DS (I hear it just got reprinted, anyone heard this?), Yoshi's Touch n Go, Partners in Time, Super Paper Mario (reprinted though), Radiant Dawn, etc. Gamestop overprices them for sure but they're still valuable. Metroid Prime Trilogy and Electroplankton are emerging as maybe the most valuable titles on their respective platforms because of limited release.

Also, to those who are saying Zack & Wiki, what makes you say that? Right now it's one of the most affordable Wii titles, though maybe not the most common. Any indication that it's changing?

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that the big-box "limited edition" versions were the ONLY versions of these games released. If you see used copies in regular Blu-ray cases it's probably because the previous owner tossed everything else.

Contrast this to Atelier Rorona and Atelier Totori, where there are limited and regular editions.

I can't vouch for Gamestop, but used copies of Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel and Hyperdimension Neptunia on Amazon start at $65.50 and $73.99 respectively.

I thought that too when I DL'ed Break One Out an indie game on xbl.It got pulled down but I still have access to it when online. Its a brick break game that reveals some half nude chick, shes not to attractive to look at but Im a sucker for flesh in videogames since its pretty uncommon when they get borderline soft porn (*cough*leisure siut larry*cough*hmmm..excuse me)

as far as Hyperdimension goes, you are correct. There was no edition other than the big box version released. At least in the US.

Infinite Space for the DS looks as if it's going to fetch some big money in the future. Radiant Historia is becoming scarce as well.

Nope. They do sell standard copies of this game. That is all I have seen anyhow.

The standard copies are new. Noise and I were correct at the time our comments were made. 8)
