Blocking doesn't bother me, it's all about the mind games and figuring out how to get your opponent off guard. You only need one opening in a versus game to do HUGE damage

I'd be curious to see some real pros go at it and see if the match would last as long. I used to see some seriously good players in the arcades years ago for Marvel Super Heroes and the versus games, and matches didn't last long

Wow. That cutscene battle was phenomenal. Capcom's artist teams are just insanely talented. This game is looking hot.

Honestly, after seeing how wonky Morrigan's face looked in her concept art, I was afraid Felicia (and other females) would suffer the same fate - but I kinda like how Felicia has turned out.

Dante also looks pretty cool. Would have preferred his DMC1 design, but hey - DLC. You know Capcom is going to do it.

Just got finished playing MVC 3 here at Evolution. I've never played the vs series seriously so I can't really answer any gameplay questions. However the game looks absolutely incredible. The 2 backgrounds in the game right now are great, especially the New York stage with the Spider Man blimp. Maybe the fact we were playing it on a 103" Panasonic plasma helped just a little.

There are 10 characters in the game right now :

Captain America
Iron Man
Dead Pool
Dante
Chris Redfield
Ryu
Felicia
Morrigan
can't remember

The facial animations and character design are shocking. All of the text being in comic book font seems less impressive until you see it. Morrigan looks ok, probably my least favorite design. They really nailed Felicia though, she just looks awesome and here animations are so well done. Hulk can look a bit plastic at times but I'm not sure if I dislike it or not. Chris is just awesome to see using all the Resident Evil guns we've been collecting all these years.

Overall this is going to be a blockbuster game. Casuals will play it because the graphics are untouchable. Hardcore are already playing and finding broken things for Capcom to fix before it comes out. Dante has so many moves he'll probably take 4 pages of the manual!

Just heard that they got rid of Air-Dashing and Double Jumping for a few characters, such as Ryu, Chris, Wolverine and Felicia.

Chris and Wolverine I understand, but Ryu could have used the air dash. He's a fairly slow character, and MvC is all about speed and mobility. It's no coincidence that most the top tier characters of MvC2 had insane mobility options.

Felicia, on the other hand... well, you'll notice that there's hardly any footage of her since they got rid of her mobility, and for obvious reasons. Getting rid of her Air-Dashing and Double Jumping has made her go from a flawed contender to absolutely useless. Seriously, she's a rush-down character! How the heck are you going to get rid of the mobility of a rush-down character? Insanity. Absolute insanity. Moreover, she was already at a disadvantage against most the cast - you don't nerf characters that are already nerfed!

Can't believe this crap. If they keep this up, I have no doubt that this game will be just as unbalanced as MvC2. We already know Chris, Deadpool and Dante will be the only characters that anyone will play as - the last thing they need to do is make everyone else worthless!

Removing air-dash and double-jump seems like a pretty extreme (not to mention lazy) way to nerf an overly dominant character.

Are we seeing an end to subtle tweaking of character traits?

Yeah, this is pretty insane. It's honestly killed a lot of the hype for me.

I remember them saying they were going to take steps to make it less like TvC and more like MvC2, but I didn't realize this is what they meant. The omnipresence of mobility options with almost every character in TvC was, I believe, a strong contributor to the game feeling balanced. Guess we can't have that.
