Nope, no dice. It does commercial games great, but just brings up the menu on backups. When I choose Play from the menu it tells me to Please insert game disc.

Interesting. That makes me want to win it even more.

Models with 0 or 1 on the sticker will all boot burns. Early models with a 2 will boot them, but 2s after October or November will not. I can't remember the exact month.

There seems to be a workaround to allow the late model dreamcast to boot backups. Not sure if you would have to convert every disc or just make a converted boot disc and go from there. Anyway, it apparently can be done for most games.
