Front Line is a good game for the Atari 2600.

One of my favorites is Undercover Cops, available for Super Famicom and arcade. I suggest using MAME and playing the arcade version, as it's superior overall.

I guess for something more modern you could go with Dragon's Crown on PS3/Vita or Code of Princess on 3DS.

I'm a fan of Battle Circuit myself. It's unfortunately arcade only though, but it is an absolute blast in 4-player.

Oh yeah, it's a truly great game, I wrote an article about it back in the day. It's a good choice (Easier than average, extremely well-made, great theme) so yeah, perhaps I should try it again.

I think I've heard about this game but never got to play it. I'll try to get the ROM and give it a whirl :)

Wouldn't it be nice if we can get an F-Zero game for 3DS! I know Nintendo has stated that they havent entertained the idea because they just don't know how they can bring fresh ideas to the series but personally I think an F-Zero game with a few RPG-esque elements would be amazing.. Sort of how like Mario Tennis for Game Boy Colour was..

Please no, "RPG elements" always seems to translate to "pointless level-ups that replace fun skil and strategy with grinding". Just give the license to Sega again, F-Zero GX was amazing :D

I really like Capcom's D&D beat 'em ups. You can pick them up on Steam for not too much if you won't want to emulate straight-up, and hey, netplay (I think, it's been a while)!

Yes. Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara are 2 of my favorites and the main reason I own a CPS2. It may just be nostalgia (certainly there's Beat Em Ups with more depth) but they're so much fun.

There's also a couple new versions floating around out there.

If you're going on a Beat Em Up kick, I suggest looking into the Beats of Rage engine -- I haven't played with it too much myself, but there's a huge number of games put out on it, some of which are amazing, and it's been ported to damn near everything.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

Seriously! A career mode where you design your own driver, design your own hover car, and upgrade both over time using points won in races. With a plot that evolves in different directions depending on how well you do in races. Hell you could even have a crew with different drivers that you use for different races depending on strengths needed. If Nintendo can turn golf or tennis into an RPG, they could damn sure do it with racing. They could even come out with a line of Amiibo hover cars that you can scan into the game.

Meanwhile on the multiplayer front, allow players to race each other online and have a world ranking system. Allow players to create their own race tracks and share them online as well. Have a racing lobby where people can walk around as their custom made drivers, and just chat it up with each other or challenge one another to races. Or discuss build tips for their hover cars, whatever.

I mean that's just the tip of the iceberg of what's possible to evolve F-Zero with. Nintendo is completely full of shit when they say they don't know what to do with the franchise. The reality is they don't think it will sell well enough to take the risk.

There's a certain (import) game I've been wanting to purchase, but it never seems to pop up on eBay. Today I get the bright the idea to search for it on Amazon Japan.

One listing.

65,990 yen!!!!!!!

Yeah don't think I'll ever be owning this one.
