I'm gonna buy an Amiga next year.

Of course I said the same thing this year and ended up getting a Jaguar and Sharp Twin Famicom instead...

So the pre-alpha footage of the new Descent game looks pretty rad:

I beat Starfox Adventures recently and the most depressing thing happened. I was planning on beating the game then going back to complete all the optional stuff, but once you enter the final battle you're stuck in a loop.

If you beat the final boss, you see the ending and then get sent to the title screen. If you play your file after that it loads straight to the final battle, and you can't just "walk away". So instead of going back and beating it 100%, you can only beat the final boss over and over.

Pretty odd for an adventure game...

Also, is 7th gen considered "retro" on this site? I was curious because the Wii is discontinued, but not the 360.

I think the general consensus here is that it has to be at least 2 generations behind the current to be considered retro. But everyone has their own qualifications.

For example, if it uses CDs then it's not retro in Bone's eyes.

On this site games that came out last week are retro.

Nah I'm comfortable calling the Sega CD, TurboGrafx CD, and Neo Geo CD retro at this point.

I like a lot of games.

Most everything on the Fairchild Channel F is awesome, for instance.

Ack, you should come over to play 8-bit Lost Levels.

Ya know, I was thinking of doing a SMB 2 marathon.

Super Mario Bros. 2 (Famicom Disk System)
Yume Koujou: Doki Doki Panic (Famicom Disk System)
Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES)
The Lost Levels (SNES)

I still have get Doki Doki Panic though...
