Been reading WAY too much Alan Moore, lately. I like most of his stuff, but it turns me off when he goes too far over into prose. I love prose with full-page art like Gaiman has done, but I want to know I'm getting into that from the get-go. MiracleMan and Promethea both do that. They start off as well-written, deep comics, but then slowly fall into introspective philosophical pose against comics layout art. I'd rather be able to choose up front which one I'm tackling.

After finishing Pluto, I decided to give Urasawa some more eyeball time and now I'm working on Master Keaton. Good stuff.

so I decided this week that I'd get the new Jessica Jones #1 and start reading a new series. Told my wife and she was interested in picking up some Batman stuff - namely Year One. So we hit the comic store and then I realized that there was a new TMNT series ("Universe") and then we started picking through the new DC Rebirth stuff and found some discount books and well...

read the new issue #1 of Jessica Jones. It's good, though slow-moving. Ends on an interesting note. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Also read #1 and #2 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universe and WOW - it's pretty fantastic. I'm loving this new series. It's dark and violent and the art style is absolutely amazing.

I found a great comic whilst on holiday in Venice I'd like to recommend, Orfani -Nuovo Mundo -the only trouble is it's in Italian and I can't find an English version. I don't speak Italian but I could follow it and enjoyed the art work so much it is definately worth checking out.

if any of y'all are interested in the new IDW Revolution stuff (Hasbroverse), Humble is currently doing a crazy bundle with all kinds of tiers of Transformers, GI Joe, and other Revolution issues.

the past couple of months, my wife and I have both started picking up a lot more comic issues. While we have the trades and graphic novels nicely spined on shelves, right now we've got the single issues in piles... which drives us both nuts. We'd like to get some nice looking storage boxes that we can keep them in, in a nice orderly fashion. Of course most of what I'm finding on Amazon are really nothing more than just cardboard boxes. Can anybody recommend a product that looks a little nicer than that?

I have a spinner racks like the stores used to have to store my newest singles. After the rack I box the mint ones, but most go on the shelve for My kids to read. I found the rack on ebay for about $20 years ago.
I'm not a bag board and don't touch comic collector. I want the to be read over and over again.

I definitely want something simple and that takes up little space, so boxes are good. I just feel like the cardboard ones look so cheap. Eh.

Also, do any of you use any certain program or app to track your collection? I might go w/ just a Google Drive spreadsheet really. It'd just be helpful to keep track of where I've left off in various series, especially since I've picked up a lot of random issues lately in thrift shops.

I do not keep track in any way. I just have stacks, shelves, racks and boxes. I love the randomness. I am more of a reader (its a book!) than a collector. I love digging through boxes and finding random issues and spending hours getting lost in them.
Modern comics now span multiple issues (a pet peeve of mine - to long and drawn out - we need more one-and-done stories in modern books) so I do keep the story arcs together when I do put them away.

Finally read SMAX, so I've read all the Moore-penned Top Ten comics.

Soon I will be starting Gaiman's run on Miracleman.

Sometime in the future I will be taking a run at Power Man and Iron Fist: Heroes for Hire.
