The last time we visited Maine, my daughter "inherited" all of her mother's old My Little Pony toys. She loves them.

:( My brother's application to live her just got rejected, so now it's him AND my mom that are getting thrown out. It also means that his girlfriend and the girls are going, too. This means that if me and my grandmother stay, we'll both have to pay the rent and utilities ourselves, and that's about $700 apiece for both of us. She's on a fixed income and I'm still unemployed. We're all more than likely gonna have to leave, but we have no where else to go.

 But my brother does currently have a job at Disney, and since he's got kids they might be able to find him a place.

 I came down here to find the money and means to move to New York, but it seems like I would have been better off staying on the Outer Banks. I'd still have TWO jobs. Since my brother and them would have gone, I could have moved into his room, which is bigger. And the landlords didn't charge us rent. I could have already been a third of the way to having the money to move to New York, and then all I'd have to worry about is finding a ride to Elizabeth City to take the Greyhound up to New York.

Another installment of the mostly sad chronicles of REPO Man... :?

I feel bad for you, but I also hope you and your family take this proverbial "kick in the ass" from your circumstances as what it should be: a push towards greater things. Go that extra mile (or several miles) and find what you need to make a better start.

If I were you I'd hook up with a temp agency (or two, or three, etc.). When my wife has had some tough luck finding employment she's had a good experience with those, and often if you do well in those positions they turn into good full time jobs.

He told me an Al Capone story (My great grandfather was chief of police for Jefferson Park/Chicago) the story of when John Wayne Gacy tried to pick him up, and Karen told me about when she encountered resurrection Mary.

My Grandmother tells the best Capone stories that leave me like a kid in the 20's staring at a radio, but Bill's Gacy story seriously creeps me out.
Funny thing, my great-grandfather was a rum-runner for Capone. Small world, huh?

Looks good getting that taken down.

This weekend, I was able to permanently put up the shed walls, installed 3/4 of the sheathing, built the roof trusses and installed them, and then installed the roof decking. I have the roof under some tarps since it will rain the next few days. I won't be able to resume work until this weekend.

Went to go buy the DUX 1.5 poster from hucast.com, but they were all gone...

:?
Went over budget when buying games again this month. We've decided to set-up a second bank account just for this hobby. This way I can manage it a bit better, and it won't get so confusing when trying to figure out what money went where.

:D
Spent some time to color with my daughter this morning. She basically just scribbles all over the paper, but she's starting to draw "things". She had a red marker and drew a big squiggle. When she was done, she pointed to it and proudly announced "Mario".

Smile: My aunt came to my house today. When I buy groceries I eat literally everything until I have nothing left. My aunt came over and tried to find food. I had a 24 pack in the fridge and 4 bottled of jack and a bottle of crown in my cabinets. She glared at me and reminded me "Alchohol doesn't count as food".

Interesting.

Also, it is interesting when you can't find anything about someone on the net. I tried a few searches of my great grandfather, "Wild" Bill Sachwey, and came up empty. Nuts,

Nothing I'm proud of, but my Grandmother met Capone a few times herself, but she never met Netti. "Capone and a few of his friends would come in with bags of cash over their shoulder, looking like Santa Claus, to give the police department their monthly contributions".

Must have been something else growing up in Chicago during the great depression, prohibition, mob rule...history that has turned into legend and lore.

Smile: Had the pleasure of seeing a dear friend of mine, and his wife and son, who traveled from DC (that's about an eleven hour round trip to say "hi!") to see me.

Frown: I don't remember the term, but he has some pretty gnarly bone cancer, and the radiation therapy has left him frail. The physical pain is the least of his worries. His son isn't even a year old, and I'm still a wreck as my pal said "I don't know if I'll live to hear my son call me Dada". Heart breaking stuff. His thyroid also is having a ton of issues, so right now we really don't know what to expect. His wife is strong though, so I thank God for that.

Rebound Smile: Found three quarters in between the cushions of my living room couch.
