Hey folks,
I am 27 years old, from germany.
main interests: music (listening, creating), videogames (playing), art (graphics).
I am a total 16 bit era fanboy and coming from the old league of genesis/megadrive lovers. But I own a lot of other systems too, but thats where my heart is.

to make the picture clearer I try to make a favourite list of 5:

Games:
1. Killer7
2. Snatcher
3. Sonic3 & Knuckles
4. Super Mario World
5. (maybe) Otogi 2

Films / Series:
1. Blade Runner
2. Twin Peaks
the other ones, change a lot.

Music:
1. Sonic Youth
2. Boards of Canada
the same here, a lot of changes

Ok too much words as a first post. alot will follow I think.

Hey everyone, my name is Flake.

I was born on the battlefield in a war where both sides lost. Afterwards I found refuge in Northern Europe with a pack of large wolves who taught me their ways. How to hunt. How to eat. How to love. I tried to avoid that last one as it was mostly just messy and awkward.

When it came time, I left my family of blood thirsty beasts and made my way in the world. High school was an awkward time. I managed to get a part time job as a mecha pilot, traveling the world inconspicuously with my 5 meter tall giant death dealing robot. I fought a lot of people and spent most of my time shouting at my opponents about what it means to be a soldier and how the space colonies needed liberty and debated on who my true enemy was. It mostly confused people but it was satisfying work and it got the bills paid. It was well documented by a Japanese animator, I am told.

But there comes a time in every mecha pilots life when he has to move on and find something meaningful to do. That was when the United States government and the British MI-6 both approached me and asked me to do espionage on the Soviet Union. Flattered by the attention and the offers of both money and comely women, I accepted both offers. Turns out that's a real faux pas and my solution of wearing the uniform of both sides (split vertically down the middle) wasn't accepted by either side. In the end I chose to accept the offer of the US - the dollar might not hold a candle to the pound sterling but US women see dentists and they don't call apartments 'flats'. I mean seriously, there is something wrong with UK women.

I didn't just jet set around the world blowing things up and sleeping with supermodels though. I'm a deeper guy than that. That was about the time I found my true love in life - yachting. During a raid on a Columbian guys ranch (or Mexican, or Peruvian, or Greek; how the fuck am I supposed to know?) I had just offed his second son and third wife when I found the boat he used to smuggle cocaine and contraband pokemon cartridges into British Canada - it was beautiful. White, 3 decks, capable of 47.32 knots and 120 feet long. Using the reasoning that he'd evaded taxes for years and that as a representative of the government I was eligible to collect, I commandeered that vessel and began wearing ascots and boating shoes.

The parties were incredible. Beautiful women and Handsome men would appear magically whenever I pulled into port. It was Cristal and Don P all the way. We would go out into international waters and party till dawn. Then we would dump our trash, toss the dead strippers body over board (these things happen when you're awesome) and head back to port with all parties sworn to secrecy lest someone narc us all out.

Well this one time this guy did go blabbing. Seems the stripper wasn't a stripper but was actually his wife who had had a few too many. What a loser, right? So I had to hunt him down with my partner, a time traveling robot who only wanted to know what it was like to be human. I convinced my partner that fear, crying, and throwing up were all part of the package and he agreed to my giving him a demonstration. For seven long years I hunted this guy down, through 6 countries and 4 continents. Color my face red but he wasn't THAT good at hiding. I was just terrible at hunting people down. He was in San Jose, California the whole time. But I never caught up with him. I was in a 7-11 in the Holy See when I came across a pac man game in the corner. I popped a few lira in and was instantly hooked.

So now I stay at home, I never leave my house, and I play video games all day long. I just got a Sega Genesis - have you guys heard of Golden Axe? GENIUS!!

Oh, and I really like this website. I look forward to getting to know the community more!
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

After that, it made me think we need to have something similar to the Smogon Awards.

Hey guys,
I'm 15, live in Canada, and just recently got back into old school gaming (although back than it was just called gaming). I own (in terms of old school systems) a(n) NES, SNES, and Game Boy Advanced SP.
My games:

NES
    -Currently none

SNES
    -Super Mario World
-Super Mario World (one is slightly different than the other)
    -Mega Man X
    -Pac-Mac 2 The New Adventures
    -WF Royal Rumble
-The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past
    -Street Fighter II
-Skiing and Snowboarding Tommy Moe's Winter Extreme
    -Mortal Kombat
    -Raiden Trad
    -Mystical Ninja

Game Boy Advanced
    -Pokemon Yellow

Although, the SNES is my priority due to it has quite a few games, but can't be fully hooked up at the moment. I bought an AC Adapter (compatible with NES, SNES, and Genesis) and now just need some component cables. The NES has a crack in the cover and I have 3 controllers for it. I'm also planning on getting a Super Game Boy off of Amazon

Is one perhaps a 'million seller' copy?

I'm guessing you meant composite cables. Racketboy sells some of those and s-video cables here.

Welcome. :)

I'm not sure... the only differences are the placement of Super (one is above mario world, the other is beside) the size of the image, and the quality of colour... also the on has a -1 at the end of the code in the bottom left corner of the cartridge.

Yes, yes, composite cables, thank you.
