If they back up their bashing with real reasons (as I try to do when explaining why I don't like Amazing Spider-Man), that shows that they actually thought about it. Nothing wrong with that. I enjoy a good, reasonable debate. But there are an awful lot of people who nitpick stupid, minor, unimportant stuff and use that as a basis for their bashing and everyone else just follows suit and you can tell they're just following the herd rather than thinking for themselves. I can't stand that.

I saw this one last night. I got it at walmart for $2.00

It was okay. Typical 80's action fantasy flick.

I think it was just to bank on Eddy Murphys career, I think this came out after beverly hills cop?

I also believe that any 80's flick with asians in it had to have had him in it

Its funny how in many of Eddy's early films you can hear a prototype DONKEY in them.

Haha I read about it in a book last night.. about hindsight bias.

And Texas Chainsaw 3D is all sorts of dumb. Not entertaining in the slightest, but I skipped the "character development" parts. I wonder how large a percentage of the target audience overlooked the ending completely. Sure let's kill off all those people and the little lady gets the big house and nothing ever bothers them again. At least put a disclaimer that it's a dumb piece of shit.

I would expect Texas Chainsaw 3D to be dumb, but I could still enjoy it for what it is (probably. Even I have my limits). It all depends on what I'm in the mood for. Sometimes I'm in the mood for something like that, other times I feel like watching something like The Woman In Black (which is excellent BTW).

I wasn't aiming to deconstruct the film but they could have tried a bit harder with the absurd plot. Even as a time waster it's a terrible film.

Finally watched Django Unchained. I loved it but what can I say, I love rooting for the under dog. I think I loved it for the same reasons I loved Inglorious Baterds. In fact I found both movies to be very similar, but not in a bad way. Only in the general plot.

Also watched my first Chaplin film and I decided to go with Modern Times. Wow. Its obvious why he is considered a master of his craft. I know a silent black and white movie isn't what people are dying to see, but you owe yourself to watch it at least once. So many messages that still hold up today. Also the leading lady (I can't remember her name) is absolutely beautiful. What a smile.

That would be Paulette Goddard, and you just saw her in her breakout role. The two would continue their chemistry with Chaplin in The Great Dictator, another excellent film, and the first of Chaplin's talkies.

Welcome to classic cinema! :D

I'm assuming the pic that didn't work was of Victor Wong? He was the man in the 3 Ninjas series! :P

Just okay? "I want the knife...Pleease" alone makes it funnier than anything I've seen in the past few years.

edit* Another reason I don't think I'll be able to stomach THE GREAT GATSBY:

Nothing screams The Great Gatsby like Jay-Z shouting "Hov. Uh. Hundred dolla bill nigga".

And in 3D!

I never read the book. but I am interested in seeing the movie because the visuals look cool and I like Leo Dicaprio. I imagine it'll be one of those love-it-or-hate-it movies though.

If you liked that, you should see The Gold Rush, another Chaplain classic. The General with Buster Keaton is also good.
