If you look at it as a B-movie, it's not bad (and neither is Ghost Rider 2 for that matter), but looking at it more objectively, it's nowhere near the standard set by Thomas Jane (who made an unofficial sequel with his own money just because he wanted to play the character again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWpK0wsnitc), hence the major disappointment.

Actually, that one's better than War Zone IMO. The Thomas Jane one is the best, though. I'm kinda hoping the Punisher TV series will be more like the Thomas Jane film than the other two (although, obviously, they'd have to tone down the violence).

It would also help if they did something to make the Punisher something other than the very dullest, most one-dimensional character in the Marvel universe.

Put me in the club who thinks Iron Man 3 is way better than the first 2 films. Actually scratch that. It's better than the first film which was good. And it's way better than the second one which was boring and didn't have a reason to exist other than to keep people invested in the Marvel Movie Universe with the most popular character, till the Avengers came out.

Like make him a rich guy with a thing for bats?
lol ouch
As for the "no love for Dolph" comment someone said - HOW DARE YOU. Dolph Lundgren is a golden GOD that can do no wrong. I love his version of the Punisher. The man is truly a living. Golden. God.
They lost me when they complained it wasn't realistic. Seriously? You're expecting realism in a comic book movie and using that as a basis for bashing it? How idiotic can you be? I swear, the only thing wrong with comics these days is the fans. And if you look at the comments, you can tell that a lot of them are the kind of people who will bash a movie and insult the people who like it, not because they think it's bad, but because the internet says it is and they think it's trendy to hate it. I hate people like that.
