Paul Verhoeven did Terminator?

Good lord, would have been 10x better. Maybe it's because I finished up the awesome Sarah Connor Chronicles series, but I tried watching T2 again today and just wasn't feeling it at all, it's too safe, that damn kid, Linda Hamilton is whatever... etc. Just made me crave Total Recall, Arnold's greatest and hot damn I don't care what people say about that one, seriously one of my all time favorites.

Paul's stuff is campy looking back on them, but just so awesome and timeless with some density.

When he's not doing Disney oriented romances, I'm okay with Cameron too, I know some people don't like his stuff at all. But yeah I think I can honestly say I like T1 more than T2. Arnold was the villain for once and there's just so much charm to it even with the lower independent budget. I still love Aliens too, even if Cameron doesn't even scratch the surface of Ridley Scott's amazingness, but yeah Aliens is fun and probably his best in my book.

Also, I need Far Cry Blood Dragon NOW! Got a code with my AMD card, so I might have to wait it out a bit...

I'm asking because it is a scientific fact that Terminator 2 is the greatest action movie ever made. And if you weren't feeling it, I have to question your state of mind.

Don't get me wrong, Total Recall is a fantastic movie and among my favorites as well. But I mean, look at this:

IRON MAN 3

MADE

I thought I had already posted about Iron Man 3, but apparently not. In short, it is something wonderful and unexpected. Best out of the series? Yes. Best out of the Marvel movies? No. Avengers still holds that title.

SWINGERS > MADE, but I still like MADE. Seeing this after IM3, I couldn't help but think Vaughn would make a great Tony Stark if he could tone down his obnoxiousness, but he can't. And you can't beat RDJr., but Vaughn could have worked.

I haven't seen 3 yet, but it's not all that surprising for me. I really enjoyed the first one, but I felt like it was "just getting started". The second one was fantastic, and I would have liked it better than the first if it wasn't so anti-climatic for me.

It's been a long time since I've watched any of the Marvel movies though... Maybe I should do a marathon soon.

I was not a fan of Iron Man 2.

Huge fan of Iron Man.

Almost a fanboy for Iron Man 3. I'd hate to type "It's more than a super-hero movie", but I just did. I'm going to see it with a crowd tomorrow to gauge their reaction, but I'm expecting thunderous approval.

And I know a lot of people are worried about "Why doesn't he just call the Hulk?", stop your worrying. This is how a stand alone super hero movie should go, as more of a character piece than anything. And there is more than enough action to quench the thirst of an explosion addict, but I think the movie would be better titled: TONY STARK, which is a good thing.

Not to hype it up too much, but I really enjoyed the movie and both comic and non-comic fans will enjoy it. It's also difficult for me to hold my tongue and not spoil the whole film.

What I've always loved about Marvel is that even before they started their own studio, their films have always had a more or less consistent tone, even on the more unconventional entires (Ang Lee's Hulk, for instance), so you know what to expect when you go see one of them. That's why on the rare occasion they produce a dud (Amazing Spider-Man, Punisher War Zone), it's so disappointing because you know they can do better. In fact, ASM was so much of a disappointment that Marvel pulled out and gave complete control of the movies to Sony so they could truthfully claim they had nothing to do with them other then putting their name on it, effectively disowning the new film series. That's when you know someone messed up.
