So this critical darling was based on a true story. How true? F if I know. But judging by the closing shot of the learjet flying that low for dramatic effect it's loosely based at best. And how would one manage to get lost in this day and age.. even Burma gets flak as the atrocities in that isolated place leak out.

Didn't even bother watching this one.

It's not like we don't know what happened.

There was a tsunami. Lots of water. A lot of people died. Others survived...

I don't see the point of watching this movie. But that's just me...

Barton Fink- 10/10

Without a doubt the best film I have ever watched (and re-watched, and re-watched). The Coens are magicians, of that I'm sure. No other movie comes close.

I hadn't watched it in a couple years and looking at it now, while it is a fun and enjoyable film, I can see why they had so much trouble coming up with a suitable story over the years and why it took eight or nine people to write it. Instead of feeling like a proper big screen movie, it feels more like an hour-long TV special forcibly stretched to 90 minutes. That said, I hope they have the opportunity to do another one so they can use this experience to make the sequel better.

That was exactly my problem with it, too. It just felt like an extended episode of the show. It didn't seem like Simpsons "The Movie". Not bad, but not special either.

The Coens are far and away my favorite directors and I love Barton Fink, but I can't place it high in my Coen Bros. rankings. Have you seen all their other films?

Of course! I just feel that Barton Fink is the most creative and intelligent. It's certainly not their funniest work, but the blend of a buddy comedy, drama, and horror is just super appealing to me. Re-watching it, foreshadowing and deeper meanings become clear. And I'm willing to say that the ending of this one is more shocking than "Fargo."

Saw Evil Dead with a Coworker, wasn't scary just obscenely graphic. I went in thinking it would be like army of darkness, with that cheesey feel. I was dissapointed. I never saw the original evil dead so I have no way to compare.
