Breath of the wild would make a good swan song for the WiiU.
Re: Switch Discussion Thread
I've never played Binding of Isaac, but from what I gather, this is the core game plus all the expansions? One article notes the same thing will cost $35 on Steam, so it seems fairly reasonable to me. I'm the kinda guy who's willing to spend a little more for something physical, but not everyone will agree.Tanooki wrote: That Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ title looks solid too, but is $40 fair for that? I wonder if it would end up in a price drop by summer.

I looked it up, and from what I gather, Ultra SFll will not have the patches that HD Remix added. AFAIK, it will play more closely to the original ST. Badass.
Plus, being able to play it on the go? Gimme that shit.

Re: Switch Discussion Thread
Hmm, it looks like when you switch the graphic style from the HD redraws back to the OG sprites, the backgrounds change back too. That's pretty cool. Didn't HDR just stick the old sprites on the new backgrounds?
Re: Switch Discussion Thread
Mash up of doom(and gloom) and soothsaying. Basically as far as online goes an internet troll that does nothing but stir up garbage about something they have no experience with yet finds anything awful to say about it with nothing positive, or at best a backhanded nice looking negative comment.marurun wrote:What is doomsoothing, exactly?
There are a good menagerie of trolls both at DP and a couple of them in the Switch thread on AtariAge too. Nothing about the system has value, it's a POS that's as weak as the xbox1(which is already disproven), that it has no redeeming reason to buy games because the hardware is weaker than a 3-4year old android mobile phone, and because the Nintendo games aren't worth it either as sellers. Just the usual irrational troll shit basically despite multiple people popping up fact proven stuff and other deductive reasoning on parts that show them being wrong.
Reprise: I touched the very original flash version and it was very rough but still solid. It was(is?) just a Legend of Zelda 1/3 dungeon simulator of sorts in the way it handles the gameplay mechanics and structure. Yet it's procedurally generated, very dark/bloody, with creepy odd insane-o religious undertones(Isaac's mom tries to kill him and he's on the escape because some 'god' of sorts commanded it as he was supposedly evil.) And I did look again it is $40 --> So yeah, very reasonable.
Re: Switch Discussion Thread
The internet, in general, is a cesspit of negativity; an echo chamber for like-minded internet bubble dwellers that circlejerk their way through every discussion, trolling and spreading negativity. Some people simply dislike Nintendo and will attack the company no matter what they do.
Edit: Tanooki, thanks for the info on Binding of Isaac. I never looked too much into the game, but that does sound interesting and as you've pointed out, it looks like the price is indeed reasonable. Guess I'll be picking it up if they release a physical version in the UK. If not, I'll import it at some point.

Yep! You would think if they were circle jerking they would be full of love.Reprise wrote:The internet, in general, is a cesspit of negativity; an echo chamber for like-minded internet bubble dwellers that circlejerk their way through every discussion, trolling and spreading negativity. It also stems from YouTube personalities who have zero foresight and no say except for editorial hate that love to just shit on everything. Many have a sad god complex.

Pretty much you got it, cesspool of trolls who think alike, or just stand alone to be a jerk to bug other people because it's cool to be the jerk trolling on some company like they(the company) has it out for them personally.
It's a solid game I imagine having gone from keyboard/mouse clickbait flash style game up through the ranks of all those digital download websites to finally a physical release. It still keeps the classic homey look to it more or less, just a little more detail without sacrificing its roots. I'm sure the rigid deaths and stiff limited control probably slacked a bit when being a properly designed game.

Oh, shit. I did not see that. I believe that's correct; only the character sprites change in HDR.TSTR wrote:Hmm, it looks like when you switch the graphic style from the HD redraws back to the OG sprites, the backgrounds change back too.
