The WiiU release will include as a bonus the Wii version of the game
The Wii version was what Prope originally finished for the Japanese publisher. Said publisher then reworked the concept for a 3DS/WiiU version. This may be the last official Wii game. It almost certainly will be the last official Wii game that isn't a kids movie / cartoon tie-in.

Yuji Naka also worked on Nights, so the similarity is certainly not by accident. There are two core games here. One is the original Wii game and the other is a rework for WiiU and 3DS. The WiiU version will - at least at first - also bundle the Wii verson. I'd assume it will distributed in a 2 disc case to save costs rather than two separate cases and a slipcover.
So we get 2 separate Discs? One that will only play in a WiiU and one that will work in a Wii or a WiiU, right?

How do you know they won't be on a single WiiU disc with the original Wii
version as an unlockable bonus?

Hopefully it is two separate discs and also available in the US. Indications are Japan only first run editions though. I'm in too for another Nights Style game for the Wii, especially if the Classic Controller is supported. WiiU owners are lucky, the analog sticks do not have the angle stops allowing for smooth spin flights of this style of game.

Carnival Games - Two versions?
Saw this at Gamestop the other day, two different game companies putting out the exact same game! The newer release by 2k alludes to more contents, but it is actually listing more prizes. I am pretty sure both versions are identical other then a different disc label and case cover. A search back home online confirms 2K Games (Take Two) bought out Global Star Software, probably the reason for the label change on the later release.

I told myself I would never buy this game back when the video ads were constantly running at every Gamestop. Now that Carnival Games is cheaper CIB used, I bought the 2K version. A disappointing game with a lot of controller shake, might refund it before the seven day mark. I do like the shooting Gallery though. Carnival Games and a later release titled New Carnival Games only console release is on the Wii; the portable versions only on the DS. Perhaps might keep it due to the exclusiveness? I imagine the GS version would be the more rare version?

It will be interesting to see what WiiU games go for 10 years from now. The WiiU is Nintendo's least successful console, and I suspect the limited print run for many of the games starring popular characters will result in high prices on the secondary market.

I guess practically all light gun games are short. The only exception I can think of is house of the dead overkill. That one is longer than most.

God, there's so many cool lightgun shooters on wii.
I forgot you mentioning this game. Thanks to watching Metal Jesus's Review of Lightgun games yesterday, I immediately drove out today and finally picked it up.

Gamestop had multiple pristine CIB copies in the drawer not even price tagged! I suspect this is another game that was new and now retagged as used. Great price for a "new" game with just the shrink wrap removed at only $2.69! The online site as well confirms that the game can only be sold as used, an "Arcade cabinet" for under three bucks!

I have passed up on Ghost Squad so many times thinking it was a knockoff FPS game. I suspect many other customers have also done the same. Sega really should have include an Arcade cabinet shot like the LA Guns cover. :?

An exclusive Arcade cabinet game to just the Wii console, how could I have missed this! Another lightgun game that also works on HD LCD and HD CRT TVs!

Sega released Ghost Squad for the arcade in 2004. Ghost Squad features a simulated IR light gun shaped similar to the standard issue weapon the game's protagonists use.

Sega published the Polygon Magic developed Wii port of Ghost Squad in Japan on October 25, 2007, and in the U.S. on November 20, 2007. It uses the Wii Zapper as a multi-purpose tool to allow players easy control of targeting enemies, defusing bombs, and detaining hostages.

Ghost Squad takes advantage of the Wii Remote's pointer functionality, the nunchuk, and the Wii Zapper giving players controller flexibility. In addition, the game features a pointer calibration mode, enabling players to use line-of-sight aiming and fire precisely where the Wii Remote is pointed. The player has the option to turn off the on-screen pointer for more points.

Exclusive to the Wii conversion of the game are four-player support.

I'd pick up Wind Waker HD sooner than later if your remotely interested in it, game has been out for 2 years and has barely dropped in price. And looking at the prices of Zelda OOT 3DS now I'd imagine that it won't be long before prices rise on that one too, seems like a game that Nintendo wouldn't produce for long.

I think a good rule with Nintendo 1st party games now a days is 1 year, if it hasn't dropped in price just buy it or they will likely put it out of print to push digital downloads. Now most of their Mario, Zelda, etc major franchises will prob be good for 2 years.

Like Wii U Sports Club was put out of print in a year, not saying its the best game but prices have been going up on it.

Seems to me that OOT 3DS may be getting a reprint, so I don't know that prices for that are likely to hold in the short term. It has become available again on amazon.ca, with an expected shipping time of 3 to 6 weeks.

actually a friend of mine who works for Best Buy told me that they are still getting copies of OOT 3D from Nintendo, but in very low quantities, like 2 or 3 a month.
