I was hoping for it to be better overall, but it wasn't. I didn't do any dancing, as there wasn't really anybody I wanted to dance with. It wasn't that great dealing with a certain friend, who was being a real dick about me not dancing, making it seem as if it was wrong for me to be there just to hang out.
I would be a dick too if you didn't at least dance to the Tejano music.
Prfsnl_gmr is joking to a certain extent, but it sounds like missed out on a good time. People who don't dance at prom are like people who don't dance at weddings: stick in the muds. And trust me, girls don't give a crap if you are a good dancer, they only care that you dance. Come to think of it, bad dancers are more likely to have more girls flirt with them.
Prfsnl_gmr, dancing to the Tejano isn't exactly something I'd do by myself, and I didn't have anyone to dance with.

Luke, (its still weird to type that, seeing as its my name too.) As I mentioned, I didn't have anybody I wanted to to dance with. I'm not a fan of dancing just because there's music, I'm not that way.

I'd also argue being a bad dancer does lower your chances, when the options are between a bad dancer and a good dancer. Unless there's some logic I'm not understanding there. Its the same with dating, why go for someone lesser when you are already closer to getting someone better? And I don't see the logic with bad dancers getting more flirting done.

I never actually went to any of my school dances, prom, etc.

I'm sure people have fond memories of that sort of thing, but honestly I don't regret it.

I went to most. Had dates to some. Didn't go to prom. I was something of an introvert. Shocking, I know.

:evil: Wanted to save money and tear down my shed w/tools on hand (12' x 12' w/shelving throughout) so I passed on renting a bobcat ($275/day) which would've taken me probably 3 hours to demolish it and put it in a rented dumpster.

This was a well-built shed, not some shoddy Home Depot deal w/particle board and 12p nails. This is 2x4" frame w/weather resistent plywood on all (6) sides, aluminum insulated siding w/2.5" siding nails and the frame is tied together w/16p nails.

Instead i'm 5 hours in - have had half-a-dozen-i'm-going-to-the-ER-moments; and I just fried out my $200 worm saw. I'm hoping it just powers itself off if it gets too hot - I let it sit an hour but still won't go :/

Now...i'll be renting a bobcat next weekend and will have to keep the dumpster another week AND buy a new worm saw.

I know and I am flattered she wants me to be close, but she is constantly giving me guilt trips for not applying to any of the sucky jobs she sends me.
It's really just because you haven't given her a grandchild yet. If you move nearby she can harangue you about it more effectively.

First rule of interpersonal relationships with the opposite sex: they don't apply the same logic you do. And that goes both ways; girls look at how guys think and can't figure out why we're so crazy.

I was joking. No one should dance to Tejano music...ever...for any reason...

<Tejano music starts playing>

"Dance or I will kill this kitten!"

<prfsnl_gmr shrugs>

"Sorry, little buddy, it looks like you are going to have to die."

I went to all and had dates to all. I sometimes had a good time and sometimes I was incredibly bored. Danced a little bit.

For me, the fun did not start until I went to college.

So... girls will, in some masochistic fashion, chose to go out with lesser men, and chose to dance with poor dancers? Fascinating.

I kind of like Tejano, so I have no issue dancing to it, when I have someone to do it with. Its not one of those things you dance to seriously, its like watching that one fat kid totally breaking down on the dubstep songs, its only done for comedic value.

Neither did I...
Never dated anyone during my school years either. Bleh...

:(
This has been a really crappy day overall. I've been working off of 4 hours of sleep, and it seems everything that can go wrong has so far. I know I'm probably over exaggerating, but whatever. A few of my loved ones have been worried about me and keep insisting that I go see somebody about my depression. Thing is, I don't even know if I'm depressed anymore. It's been so long, this kind of feels normal, and I don't feel like I used to. It's become more of a mood swing situation now. It's just making everything worse...

:evil:
It feels really good outside, why the hell do they always have to have it so cold in this building??

:?
Car goes back into the shop today. More money being spent, and this means that I have to ride my bike for the rest of the week, and possibly longer. No biggy though, as I need the exercise.

:D
My daughter was clinging to me all day. She wouldn't let me put her down, and wanted to sit next to me while I was taking a nap. Granted, this is why I only got 4 hours of sleep...

I have had two proms (I think, it might have been just one) in the time I've been in school so far, and been to neither. I just don't get the point. If you want to go on a date, just take someone to Chick-fil-a or something. Don't spend hundreds of dollars on something that lasts one night. That's just stupid.
Yesterday, I went to my grandparents house for Mother's Day, so I brought some games and trounced my cousins at Tobal and Bushido Blade. :D
