I actually have always wanted to play that. It's by Grasshopper and looks super weird.Blu wrote:Paging BogusMeatFactory and fellow Michiganders,

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Doesn't it? It looks like a cheesy over-the-top survival horror game. You should suggest it for Together Retro Noise!

Dearborn Heights resident over here.
It's too damn bad Michigan was never released in the States.
Just got my PS2 hooked up via component in my new apartment and everything.

The Fury was a much better boss battle than I remember it being. Kind of comes out of nowhere but still fun.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Just had a bundle of 8 Game Gear games arrive, and I'm fairly positive 2 of them are fakes. The rest all look legit, but they're much more common games.
The fakes seem fairly obvious to me, the labels look like the printing is low quality, and one uses the wrong type of screw and the cart is slightly off-colour.
Really annoying, becuase I'd be happy to keep the other 6. Wonder if I can get a partial refund.

I have very, very little experience with GG carts, but that doesn't necessarily point to a fake. I've seen different types of screws used on legit Genesis carts. There's examples of some games just having piss poor labels (a lot of Genesis carts, Mega Man X3). There's also stuff like Majesco re-releases that are notorious for poor labels (among other things).alienjesus wrote:The fakes seem fairly obvious to me, the labels look like the printing is low quality, and one uses the wrong type of screw and the cart is slightly off-colour.
When in doubt, best bet is to open it up and post pics of the PCB. Most pirate/bootleg carts are really easy to spot by looking at the PCB.

Yeah, I opened the parcel at work. When I get home I'll crack them open and take a look.Ziggy587 wrote:I have very, very little experience with GG carts, but that doesn't necessarily point to a fake. The games in question are Deep Duck Trouble and Legend of Illusion. Deep Duck Trouble has a box and a manual, but I haven't had time to look at those yet to see if there's any obvious issues with those.
Deep Duck Trouble's label seems a bit off to me (it has ratings on it I don't see on online images, and more closely resembles a US cart than a PAL one, although neither is necessarily a definite sign of a fake), and thats the cartridge with a philips head screw and a darker coloured plastic.
Legend of Illusion has an awful print quality label that looks a little too small and is peeling at the edges a bit. The cartridge itself looks legit though.
