I was hoping for it to be better overall, but it wasn't. I didn't do any dancing, as there wasn't really anybody I wanted to dance with. It wasn't that great dealing with a certain friend, who was being a real dick about me not dancing, making it seem as if it was wrong for me to be there just to hang out.
I can't blame her. I would be a dick too if you didn't at least dance to the Tejano music.

:?
Slept almost my entire weekend away. Was feeling like crap, but wasn't really sick? iunno...

:(
My supervisor keeps assigning ridiculously stupid tickets to me.
:)
Haven't screwed one up yet. He was quite impressed with my last find.

:D
List of my daughter's vocabulary as of this post:
Sonic, Sega, MehMeh(Mechagodzila), Gahzilla, Pac-Man, Yoshi.

:(
I've been really lazy/depressed lately. Can't seem to pull myself out of it. The only thing that's been making me smile recently is my daughter. I can barely get myself to play video games and I haven't touched any of my studies in weeks. I hate when I get like this... (I know nobody gives a shit, but it helps to post about it? meh...)

Prfsnl_gmr is joking to a certain extent, but it sounds like missed out on a good time. People who don't dance at prom are like people who don't dance at weddings: stick in the muds. And trust me, girls don't give a crap if you are a good dancer, they only care that you dance. Come to think of it, bad dancers are more likely to have more girls flirt with them.

Frown: My wife was really excited for breakfast in bed this morning, and we had planned on sleeping in and watching MST3K like we did as college students. Well, my dog woke me up at 5am needing to go outside, and although I was able to go back to sleep, I woke up at 6am in a pool of sweat. So no breakfast in bed, no mst3k, no...other stuff. My wife is super disappointed, and so am I, but I was way too uncomfortable to get back in bed. Too sweaty.

So now I need to think of a way to make it up to her.

Smile: Yesterday was near perfect. A tad on the warm side, but great weather for croquet.

Frown: Who would have thought a "Happy Mother's Day" call would make me frown?

My Mother keeps sending me jobs (which I don't need) in my parents home town. "Did you check the jobs I sent you?" was the first subject of topic. "Your Father can call the front office and get you an interview asap".

What I want to say: "F--k if I'm leaving my job to make way less money, make my wife leave her job, put up my house for sale to manage a f---ing grocery store (no offense to those in the biz) in a town where I don't want to live. It makes zero f--king sense".

What I said: "Neat. I'll look into it".

How my Mother responded: "I love you, but you have no idea how frustrated I am with you".

Say what? The mountains are nice and all, but we've got it pretty good here, and the nearest grocery store is five minutes away, not a fifty minute drive. We're super happy here, and I have no clue why my Mother feels the need to constantly try to get us to move. Ain't happening unless it is a necessity.

I know and I am flattered she wants me to be close, but she is constantly giving me guilt trips for not applying to any of the sucky jobs she sends me.

I'll strap on my big boy pants and accept her behavior, but it's frustrating to me that she doesn't understand how happy my wife and I are, right where we are.

That said, if she ever sends me an opening at Google, I'm all over that. But grocery store manager...pass.

Have you told her this, frankly and honestly?

Moms are moms, mine is no different, but I've never understood why some people don't want to speak their mothers bluntly about such things (not saying this is you, just saying).

There's nothing at all wrong with saying "Ma, here's the deal..." and laying it out firmly. It doesn't have to be mean or disrespectful, just honest.

My mother can really push sometimes on things that just don't make sense for me, and while I always take her advice and help gladly, sometimes I have to stop her in her tracks. When we talk it out (not always calmly granted, but we don't fight), she eventually understands, even if she still disagrees.

On the other hand, I get that for some people this might just lead to a fight. I certainly can't pretend that everyone's situation is like mine.

You know what you're doing and don't need advice from me about your family, I know. I'm just kinda discussing it.

For close to four years. "MLE and I have worked very hard to get where we are, and we couldn't be happier". I've said it countless times.

My Father says "Mom being Mom", and he's right (always is). Just something I'll have to grin and bear...for life.

@CFFJR: I know you were just discussing the situation. Even if you did want to give advice it is always welcome. But at the end of the day, week, month, year, decade, the rest of my life, I don't think I'll hear the end of it.
