Retrodude...I am afraid that you are going to have to face the fact that DSH appreciates the muppets on a much deeper level than the rest of us. :lol:

Considering what they got away with on The Muppet Show (that they might not get away with today), that seems like exactly the kind of gag Henson would've snuck in. Ya gotta admit, The Muppets haven't been that daring in years.

If that counts as "daring" or approaches counterculture, then I'm afraid the end of The Muppets is indeed upon us.

This was Henson's pitch for the show. It captures nicely what he was shooting for, the new film did only some of what he laid out as a vision here...



(note also the joke about egghead intellectuals thinking that the show is deep :lol: )
