Video Game "Finds of the Day"
foxhound1022 wrote:Cookie and I went to our local S.A. store this evening, while she looked for action figures, I found:

Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits Vol. 2 - DC
Silent Scope - DC
The House of the Dead 2 - DC
Soul Calibur - DC
TrickStyle - DC
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing - DC
Sonic Adventure - DC
Ooga Booga - DC
Iron Aces - DC

All complete ranging in fair to good condition.
Got all of these for $1.99 a piece. Found them mixed in with the music CD's. When we got to the counter to check out, the lady was all pissy about the prices being wrong on them. Then she tried to dissuade us from buying them, showing us some scratched discs. We were undeterred and purchased them anyway.

Anyway, today I found a PS2.

PS2 SCPH39010 (looks like new)
Network adapter (looks like new)
Dual Shock 2 controller (looks like new)
hook-ups
and a Messiah 2 modchip inside (from 297chip.ca, installed in April '04). The do not remove sticker was replaced with a sticker from these guys.
Price: $14.99

I was happy. :)

After bringing it home to test with my JP games, it does work... but the disc drive has trouble reading discs and it skips while playing videos. I guess maybe the lens needs to be cleaned or some tinkering needs to be done. Still, I pretty good deal I think.

Also, I got a number of loose NES games in good condition:
Manic Mansion
Mega Man 2
Metal Gear
Codename Viper
Final Fantasy
Strider

and loose Genny carts:
The Death and Return of Superman
Ecco the Dolphin
Rocketknight Adventures

$27 for all ($2.99 each). I own none of these (although I do have Sega CD Ecco and have had most of these NES games in the past), so I'm happy here, too.
 Very nice and great prices!

@ foxhound and Breetai thanks for getting the thread back on track. :D

Nights Journey Of Dreams - $4.99 Gamestop

The remade Saturn and PS2 game had good to fair reviews. Once a controller is adapted correctly, a real Joy to play! Stick around and read the review. 8)

PSX EagleMax Act Labs PS48P
Inspired by the new title, look what I found buried and works with Nights. :D

@ CaptainWeasel - Please rename back to the original title please, you have one of the best Threads. Don't let all the complainers ruin it.

You're not allowed to post good deals here anymore. Now unless you have something lame and unimpressive to tell us about or a bone to pick with someone, be gone!

Stop trolling. It ruins the thread (and the title of the thread, apparently).

My friend got a huge lot today, but paid $550. I think he overpaid.
He ended up with (from my memory):
5 NES consoles with the usual bunch of controllers, zappers, etc.
5 Genesis consoles (1 model 1 non-HDG, 4 model 2) with the usual bunch of 3/6-button controllers
Sega CD (model 2, in great condition... but no plates or extension), with hook-ups
a bunch of PS1s and controllers/memory cards
a bunch of phat PS2s and controllers/memory cards
a bunch of X-Boxes and controllers. One was modded with a large hard drive and pre-installed games/emulators
a Gamecube CIB
a GBA-SP
a few Gameboys
3 Atari 2600s (one 4-switch, two juniors)
a ton of games over all these systems, along with a few decent SNES games

Really, there were good games there, but nothing I saw as uncommon at all. Lots of essentials like Sonics, Mario, Mega Man games, Metroids, Ninja Gaidens, etc. Most everything was in good-great conditioBut... nothing he got really stood out at me. I'd say it's enough for him to fill a few holes in his collection, but I really don't think he's going to make much money off this lot without quite a bit of work.

Oh well! Cool stuff is cool stuff!

I don't know. I guess the hardware might be worth it. I was just kind of disappointed that most of his game selection was really just commons. Final Fantasy was probably the most expensive NES game he got, and that isn't really that expensive of a game. He got a lot of Mario/Duck Hunts and Sonic 2s.

I also 100% with what Modman is about to say on the next page of this thread.

I say let's start from scratch. You want finds? I'll show you finds! None of this bargain bin, gum residue crap that smells of ripe bowling alleys.

I'm not really inclined to post my finds anymore, but I'm in it for the greater good now.

Bazinga!

HRAP 3 SA (full Sanwa) and 6 button configuration - everything else removed. That nasty Marvel art is going bye bye. I might have to hire sevin for my new template.

Got the original box all minty + a dozen Sanwa OBSF snap-ins.

Paid $103.51 shipped at the bay.

damn you hobie!

making me feel guilty.

yeah my finds weren't the greatest, but blah blah blah change!

I'm not posting pics today, cause apparently you guys dont like random crap.

at the fleamarket I got lots of free dvds and audio cds! some guy said f*ck it and said everything free!

Got "The Cure" 5 disc singles/songs in a cardboard display box. spells out their name and has little windows so you can see it. The pressed Cds have an early 90's look to it. pretty nice and shiny.

In the lot free dvds I found, I got a new in the wrapper Harry Potter and The Prisoner Of Azkaban!

ok back to the games.

Mega Man 4 nes game only $1.00
Guardian Legend nes game only with plastic cover also $1.00
Kid Niki Radical Ninja Nes also $1.00 game only

Five og gameboy game cases for $1.00! no games in them :( , but it was late and the guy gave me a good deal.

One PSone base console, no wires, no controllers, but looks clean $1.00

I still think the finds of the year thread sucks! :P

The hardware alone is worth it, although I agree that it would suck to get a huge $550 lot with no good games.

my initial thought was way over paid, but it really depends on what your local market is doing. If he can put together some nice lots on craigslist he could make most of that back.

Regarding the title of the thread, didn't even notice at first but seems kinda dumb it changed but whatever. Wake me when it becomes "oooh shiny things!" :P
