You still get the people who think their consoles are DOA because they're not holding the button down long enough though, oh and the people who keeping about translation patches, which Hyperkin said they can't even do.

For the love of all that's holy I wish that these weeaboo dorks would set aside an hour a day for a couple of months to at least learn the basics of the Japanese alphabet and some grammar and shut the hell up about how their unofficial hack repro Tales of Phantasia or whatever carts won't play on an unofficial clone emulator console released 20+ years after the games were.

But yeah. You gotta hold dat button.

Well said bone! The SRT sucks for the NES side but I hear the SNES is stable compared to that so yeah that would work for the weeabo idiots and their translated SFC games quite nicely.

Man, I guess I am a weeaboo idiot for having some translated SNES repro carts... Nice to know.

Wut? Have you complained multiple times on the Hyperkin Facebook page about the R5 not reading your repro carts? That's the type of behavior I'm referring to.

I love Super Famicom translations. Played through 10 or so myself. But I would never in a million years expect a clone console to boot unofficial carts properly.

Bravo.

The more bugs they squash and the more features they add, it still won't be enough.

The thing is for all their bitching, not that it's a priority, but the tech was telling me a month ago their intent was to get as many bootleg carts (translation, etc) and even multicarts(if they find the mapper data) possible to the thing. It's just that legit games come first, as do system shortcomings like the quick boot, and quickload stuff the drop the other day fixed.

Nah you know me, I dont get on things and bitch about small things. But, if that was to be my only way of playing SNES carts, and had several repros, it would cause me to consider not buying it.

It was a concern for me at first honestly. Luckily all the repros I do own ended up working fine but that ended up being more of a bonus than anything.

Not buying a Retron 5 because it doesn't have a feature you want is perfectly understandable.

Buying a Retron 5 expecting it to do something that was never promised and then complaining that it doesn't regardless of the fact that they never said it would is the kind of silliness he was talking about.
