Same here. I love post-SotN CastleVania, but as cool as they are, they still aren't nearly as good as Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, and Metroid Zero Mission.

So I've been playing this for like 2 weeks and kept expecting to get to a point where I'd see it for this horrible game that a lot of reviews made it out to be. I never got to that point. Instead, I enjoyed myself immensely for the entire game. Maybe it's because I'm still relatively n00b-ish when it comes to modern FPS games. I don't know. But I genuinely liked Colonial Marines.

I don't know. I played through Super Metroid and beat it exactly one time. I lost count of how many times I've beaten Castlevania Symphony of the Night. It's a better game in my opinion, at least for my particular tastes. And I was never as thrilled with Metroid titles as I have been with metroidvania games as I've played a lot more of them. I like rpgs, and the Vania part really brings that in as Symphony of the Night was the game to merge that with the Metroid formula.

Course, the whole creatures of the night theme is more interesting to me than space bounty hunter, so there's also that I guess. Stylistically and thematically I like Castlevania more than Metroid. I was never a huge fan of either until Symphony of the Night, which made me love Castlevania. Metroid I still am not a huge fan of, but I did have fun with Metroid on the NES and Super Metroid on the SNES, but just never felt the need to play them more than once.

I was kinda disappointed there was no real ending, instead was given a loop to re-attempt the Level 5 courses, but I really loved this game. I will play the other 2 for this TR month.

I had no idea how great this game is! I should've known I wouldn't be let down, considering Treasure was involved. I am going to play back through this with another friend, but color me impressed. This game is amazing!
