All this messing around and I still haven't been able to get any of my bigger CRTs to look as good with my old games as that little 13" Panasonic monitor. :/

Or maybe I just need some new switchboxes, yikes! Looks like the one I'm using for s-video stuff is really introducing a lot of interference

Which one? If the first one, what level are you stuck on?

Yeah, you have to watch out with those switchboxes. They can really screw up the picture quality if you get a cheap one.

Yeah, the first one. I've been able to make it to stage 6-2 so far, but that stage destroys me.

I haven't touched in a month or two, trying to master Castlevania first. But yeah, I think 6-2 is legendary in how tough it is. So rough, so rough.

I have this weird feeling with this game I've been playing. It's hard, and I love it, but I have a sense I will never want to play it again after finishing it. Is that bad?

I also have this weird thing where I can't help but like a game less if it has bland/grey and brown environments. I like bright colors, damn it!

Is 6-2 the one with the small platforms and the birds? That one's borderline broken.

It has nothing to do with the plug being on its side versus vertical, just that every other sane cartridge system uses something that slides straight in as opposed to sliding in at an angle and then twisting (if you think about it looking from the side of the toaster NES).

RE: Revelations is super fun!

Trying to figure out if it's worth it to go for an FX-8350 vs a 4300

Yeah thats the one. Its that 3rd screen with tons of birds, and a small platform with a knife-throwing asshole. I can't tell if the game was meticulously designed to be a mind-numbing challenge, or if no one decided to test the last stages.

Ha, nice, Castlevania is what I went to after about an hour of raging over that damn 6-2. I just got past the Frankenstein boss on stage 12, which took me quite a few tries. That little monkey thing is damn frustrating!
