My only problem with this article is its constant use of the phrase storm troopers, which breaks the mood making me imagine star wars troopers committing those crimes.

It's all true though her paragraph on public transport doesn't actually make a point, and I DO believe that citizens like in all democracies have the ethical responsibility to vote for good politicians, not corrupt ones, so they can't say they don't hold at least 35% of the blame. I'd give another 50% to the politicians for ALL being corrupt (and it's a chicken and egg situation, since decent politicians get bullied out of the system) and 15% to the EU for being badly designed.

But the assholish treatment is also very true specially from a couple of countries (though Germans I met have been very respectful of the entire subject).
