How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?

-Eventually replace the monitor. I go back and forth on what I really want though. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with a 22" LCD TV of some sort, because I can get a stand to easily TATE it, and a TV will give me the option of switching between VGA and composite/SVideo for stubborn games.

Also, another thing I had thought of... y'know those things that come with a lot of PCB's? They're like inserts that you'd slide into a cab that show you what the buttons do and all? What are the dimensions on those? I assume you can print repros out there? Might be kind of cool to some integrate something like that for some of my more overly played titles (Third Strike, Garou, etc). Just an idea. Not sure if I'm sold on it yet, as I'm also a fan of keeping things very simple and minimal in appearance.

The LCD TV might be hard to find with SVideo, but at least most have a VGA input. A good trade off since many Dreamcast games support VGA. Still think a mistake since you are killing VGA House Dead Lightgun support.

The inlay is a great idea! You could mount clear plastic on either the arcade stick or even the front of the monitor stand. Drop in your own custom Marquee Art describing the buttons.

but about a foot to the left of the Dreamcab is a big CRT TV. So I'm really not losing lightgun support.

Weird, didn't know s-video was leaving LCD's. I have 2 Toshibas and 2 LG's, all have S-vid (and vga / compos / compon / vga / hdmi). They are now all between 3 and 7 yo's though, so must have been done away with the last 36 months or so...too bad, it's the most commonly used connection on the majority of my consoles.

I'm not certain the ones I linked DON'T have SVideo either. As Best Buy's description page doesn't seem to have SVideo as a YES/NO category anyway. Hmm.

I ended up with a Sony Bravia with only Coax, Component and HDMI (And composite through the luminance port on the component connection). That was pretty standard for what I looked at. No S-Vid, No VGA, All a bummer.

I've been playing my Dreamcast a lot lately. Plenty of Giga Wing yesterday, lots of random fighting games. It's been a good time up until now. Late nights of MVC2 and Chu Chu Rocket have left me sitting up at night, unable to sleep. Hearing voices. Making large purchases on Amazon.

Then today I came home to this.

Before I knew it, my simple (mostly) silent VMU's were alive!

And doing unspeakable things!

Truly, unspeakable things.

I will never look at my Dreamcast the same after the unsavory things I witnessed tonight. It's time to return to the simpler things, far away from the reach of my VMU's.

I really am torn.

I like VMU-Henge, but the VMU love making was so tastefully photographed and breaking all sorts of traditional stigmas.

This type of thing might need it's own thread. Though i'm sure some folks would ruin it by putting googly eyes on them or something.
