Played the Fire Emblem demo for 3DS. Super pumped for it now. Can't wait!

I played it too. I have no clue how the dual-fight support system thing works. People seem to fight/defend together randomly. I hope they print up a decent manual with this game.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Played the Fire Emblem demo for 3DS. Super pumped for it now. Can't wait!

I know next to nothing about it. But if it's compatible with Commodore 64 software, then I'd say it's worth checking out.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Is the Commodore 16 worth checking out? Local guy has one for sale.

It's not, actually. Turns out it has it's own library of software. I don't really need one (I already have a C64) but if it's still on CL in a week or two I may jump on it.BurningDoom wrote:I know next to nothing about it. Yeah, that's the original Advanced D&D (version 1 {but not plain old D&D} rules) adventure module. Was a friend's copy that as you can see, we played through a lot.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Niiiiiiiiccceee!!!!
I assume that's the tabletop version? I don't know that much about D&D - I just have the core 4.0 red box.
This is discussed all the time here and elsewhere, how have you not read this?BoneSnapDeez wrote:Anyone know exactly why the front-loading toaster NES sucks so bad at reading cartridges? Other front-loading consoles don't develop the same problems.
The socket that allows the "slide in and pop down so the machine didn't look like a 'toy' video game system from before the crash" is prone to having the pins bend. Then kids blow (read spit and breathe their damp foul breths) on the carts. This created corrosion on the carts and in the system when it dries so your games work even worse next time. If you clean your carts, the connector in the system, and perform a little pin bending maintenance, things should work great again. Regular old edge connector slots that everything else use are generally fine as long as you don't get them dirty.
I'd say no. They didn't sell for crap here. They apparently sold better in Europe and there was actually software available for them. But I'm pretty sure it is all tape. So you'd probably have to import hardware and software unless you were going to type in basic programs or something or just wanted it as a cheap showpiece.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Is the Commodore 16 worth checking out? Haha, yeah... I had read this same kinda thing... I just got thinking about the Intellivsion, C64, and Tandy side-loaders all seem to work fine, but not the NES.Hobie-wan wrote: This is discussed all the time here and elsewhere, how have you not read this?

But yeah - you pretty much answered my question! Too bad they didn't make it resemble the Famicom right from the get-go.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
It's probably just one of the many promotional items Nintendo was handing out; I remember seeing them at a demo day at the local mall in 1992 and they had many stations to play their newest games including many TVs to try the Super Scope on and they gave away free Super Scope eyepatches. I snagged a few of them and they help when playing that immensely.Nintendork666 wrote:Someone on giantbomb just posted this SNES ruler they stumbled upon:
