I'm down with the flu and couldn't care less about such silly matters  But it's depressing to hear such news, I'm against this rabid nationalism that claimed thousands of lives in the 90s.

Wow, Canada, a sad day. Glad to hear Prime Minister Harper is safe.

This doesn't sound like an IS terrorist attack though. Probably a bunch of nut-cases

Possibly(though what else do you call ISIS members?), but don't forget that just because it might not be affiliated with them doesn't mean it wasn't inspired. There was that case in Britain several months ago where a Muslim man attacked and murdered an English soldier in the streets in London over his views on British involvement in the Middle East.

though what else do you call ISIS members: insecure useless boys who turn to radical ideologies and hate everything and everyone in the world to make up for their uselessness? (met many muslims/christians/jews/atheists in my life, the more lazy/uesless they were the more radical they talked)

Yes I remember, but the thing is you can just say "it was a crazy man, there was nothing we could do" about people like that. If it's a terrorist attack carried by an actual terrorist organization then they hit public morale and people start asking "why weren't we protected"

Sure, it could have been an individual with a mental illness or psychopathic tendencies, but in this case the ideology of the motivation will be heavily scrutinized. If the individual(s) involved compose all or part of a single team or even form offshoots of multiple teams espousing a similar ideology, then it will likely be considered a terrorist attack. And terrorists can still be single individuals. The Unabomber comes to mind for the United States.
