RPG Progress Report
Re: RPG Progress Report
Started FFXIV last night. Up to lvl15. Not bad so far. I do think nostalgia is a big factor in my enjoyment. Going to be a while before I see how the endgame is.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Made some decent progress in Book II yesterday. Got the Master Key and thoroughly explored Solomon Shrine, drained the Canals, found the "Battle" tier gear, and found the Goddess' Castle.
So, I'm supposed to go to the Belfry and find a Dreamstone Idol (or something like that). The very first thing I find in the Belfry is a boss... and he seems to be immune to anything and everything I can think to try on him. Its the only door in the Belfry, so I am pretty sure this is where I am supposed to be, but I am completely stumped on how to fight this guy. Its the boss that shoots 4 ice blocks that bounce around the room.
Bone, halp.

I believe you need to actually be shooting at the projectiles - not the big boss guy!

Re: RPG Progress Report
Good one Falcom, you got me.
Oddly enough, I actually tried shooting as his projectiles, but when I saw him at full health at the end of the fight, I figured it didn't work.
Time to go take this bitch down!
Edit: Ah, so apparently you have to hit a projectile a few times, which turns it red, and then you have to hit it a few more times to kill it, which is the point where the boss takes damage. Kicked his ass!
*steps into the next room*

Re: RPG Progress Report
After hours of getting my butt whooped before work yesterday, I finally conquered Xi Wangmu in SMT IV this morning. Her Megaton Press move was a total pain - it seemed unfair that she could wipe my entire party with one attack (and still have 2 unused turns afterward), despite the multiple Rakukaja spells I had implemented. I actually fused a new demon particularly for this battle.
DAT SWEET, SWEET TASTE OF VICTORY, THOUGH.

Almost level 29. Should be bard soon. Once I max that out I'll probably expand to lancer/dragoon. Then maybe marauder.
